Whilst I understand why the players want to take action in lieu of any leadership from footballing authorities, I do fear that going public with a walk off threat only goes to encourage the idiots to abuse players and force the situation. As soon as I saw the headline my reaction was that abuse was almost guaranteed now.
Why go public with it? If this is what the team had agreed to do then ok, keep it within the squad until the unfortunate time arrives.

cant just walk off. a small minority of fans screw it up for the thousands of the non racist fans in the stadium and the millions around the world watching. stop the game and name and shame the idiots or the home team loses the three points.
make these guidelines before the game is played.if there is too many then for the safety of the players do it at halftime.
the players could be on their bus before the morons know what happened.

But that's clearly not working cause they haven't got bored after years of it.
A walk out is a huge visual display, it will force FIFA / UEFA to take more stringient action as the last thing they want to see is teams refusing to play and walking off during a game.
Yes there will be some genuine fans impacted but eggs and omlettes.
Look at it like this, Liverpool fans walked out in huge numbers from a game to make a statement to the owners, it worked and the owners reacted accordingly.
I dont think that walking off will acheive anything.
If England are 2 or 3 goals up they wont be so keen to walk off.
Imagine if back in the day the likes of
Luther Blissett
Cyril Regis
John Barnes
had walked off when racist abuse was far worse then it is now.You would never have heard about them again.
The England players always have the Cantona option available to them

Yeh, ignoring it has worked so well up to now, hasn’t it?
I dont agree a walk off is the appropriate action IF the game is being appropriately monitored and stewarded.
FIFA monitors should be observing everything and gathering evidence of the offences and the punishments need to be very harsh, and relative the scale of abuse (handful of idiots vs whole sections of the crowd). Stewards/police where possible should look to target and remove offenders. FAs should be supported by FIFA/UEFA to ensure these things are properly policed etc . To me it seems a waste if the FA are fined massively & then lose gate receipts from behind closed doors matches, when that money should be directed into the better monitoring and policing of games. It is not going to be resolved overnight, the powers on high need to be taking a much more prominent and firmer stance and then players may have faith that it will be dealt properly and not down to them to make a point about the issue by walking off.
