He's here for the season. Don't know about recalls.

Started off with a bang but hasn't looked anywhere near that player in recent weeks. Possibly, he's not getting the minutes on the pitch.

Season loan with no recall clause.

I bet he's frustrated at the lack of playing time.
Would not be surprised if it continues, Arsenal
work a way to get him back. Wasted here.

It will be interesting with Eddie and his Arsenal future. We have Laca, Auba, Martinelli who is knocking and Eddie. I hope and assume that Laca and/or Auba wont be sold.

People got carried away because he scored a few 1 yard tap ins. There’s no doubt he’s a good player but there’s a reason bielsa Dosnt start him

Meanwhile the other lad misses tap ins.

Batty, Bamford is much more of a presence up front, the goals will come. Without a doubt Nketiah has an eye for goal but if he's not scoring, which he isn't, he doesn't offer an awful lot more. I have said before, bit of a flash in the pan.

There is a recall clause in January. Same as with Clarke. This has been confirmed by Angus Kinnear.

It's very common, mostly in place to bring a player back that isn't playing as with Baker last season. Less often it used because the player is having a succesful spell such as bringing Harvey Barnes back to Leicester last season.

I know this is old fashioned, but, I firmly believe a
striker's first, primary, and main job is to score goals.

If he doesn't, he's a luxury. If that luxury is playing
in a team that doesn't score, period. Then that team
is in trouble over the long haul.

If MB doesn't at least give Nketiah a run of games
starting, and rework his tactics to play to Nketiah's
strengths, then if I'm Arsenal, I say fook it Leeds.
And recall him.

There's a reason that thinking is old fashioned.

Nketiah might have an eye for goal, but I've seen nothing of him that makes me think he's as good as Bamford in any of the strikers other roles in the system Bielsa plays.

Then you're obviously ok with a lack of goals.
And Nketiah wasting on the bench. Arsenal should
definitely recall him if that's the thinking.

Best response on here, I’ve seen for years.

And completely spot on.

No way Eddie should be starting.

Let's hope all you football savantes can will Bamford into scoring. Because neither he nor the system seems to be having much effect in that respect. But, hey, he holds the ball up like a champion.

We was top of the league last week.

Against Derby, Eddie replaced bamford, and the game changed.

If you think Eddie should play instead of bamford, you know zero about football

If Eddie has of started agains West Brom, we’d have got beat

posted on 9/10/19

I think we will see less and less of Eddie as the season progresses, think as he gains fitness, Roberts will be Bielsa's go to player. Eddie has speed and an eye for the goal but in other areas seems quite limited. Cannot hold the ball up, not good in the air. Think he's more likely to drop down to the U23's than start games.

Think the bit Batty doesn't get is those last five words "in the system Bielsa plays".

Oh I get it Elsbels. I also get we'll be up sh 1 t creek
if we don't find someone who can score goals at a rate
that pays dividends on the chances we create. Last
3 games we created 51 chances. Scored 2 goals.
That's diabolical.

If people can't understand that basic issue. Then they
know fook all about football.

That's according to BBC sport stats for our last 3 games
You can find it for yourself on the beeb site. Even you could figure that out. The stats aren't mine. I posted the other day when you were spouting again about this same situation.

Here's what I posted direct from BBC sports stat tracker
Maybe you'll read it this time? Enjoy:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>

According to BBC Sport, over last 3 games
our stats are as follows:

LUFC vs West Brom
48% / 52% Possession
19 / 10 Shots
9 / 4 Shots on Target
1 - 0 Win

LUFC vs Charlton (@Charlton)
71% / 29% Possession
19 / 3 Shots
4 / 3 Shots on Target
0 - 1 Loss

LUFC vs Derby
63% / 37% Possession
13 / 5 Shots
5 / 1 Shots on Target
1 - 1 Draw

Huge amount of possession.
Total shots (over 3 games): 51
Total shots on Target (over 3 games): 18
Total goals scored (over 3 games): 2

I wouldn't class any of the above as
'clear chances'. But, I would class the
above as clear proof we do not score
enough goals based on our possession,
or our chances created. The fact that 18
were on target and we only scored 2
is absolutely shocking.

Add to that the opposition only needed
8 shots on target to net their 2 goals.

ATBR, I'm as concerned as you.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Clearly, 51 chances or shots as they put it.

Simple question:

Who's going to start converting our many
chances and possession into goals?

Because the fact is, no one is right now.
Including Bamford.

And to my point that I made in response to the Gunner fan earlier, if I was Arsenal and I saw
Nketiah (a striker they sent here to play because he scores goals) sitting on the bench getting 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there, I'd recall him in January. Absolutely wasted with us. It's Barkley all over again.

posted on 9/10/19

If Nketiah could do the job required as well as Bamford can then hed be starting. Strikers nowadays need an all round game, that, from.my fairly limited exposure to him, I don't think Nketiah possesses to the same level yet. Give Bielsa time to teach him that. Bielsa is the reason Nketiah won't get recalled. He's getting top class coaching on the area of his game that needs most imporvement, from a manager who has had a hand in producing some top, top players.

Of course it isn't ideal that Bamford isn't scoring. He's at least consistently playing well. Can you say that of our other attacker? How many goals have Costa and Harrison contributed? Hernandez? Klich? None of our offensive players are scoring at the moment, which suggests to me the issue is a wider one than just who plays up top.

Whilst I get the frustrations with Bamford, I think people need to realise what huge impact he has for us, chases everything and everyone, he doesn't just run after them, he's sprinting - its totally key to the way we play.

I actually think the chances missed by him is a result of the effort he puts in else where on the pitch, so I'm not overly sure of a fix to it, other than working with him on the training field on how to conserve energy and knowing when to recover during periods in the games.

Boxers for example train to be able to take periods of rest, whilst still defending yourself, this is key to playing a long game, or, making sure you keep your power and accuracy during the fight, for when crunch time comes. There is a reason that you can't simply throw millions of punches for the whole round.. if you did, by the end of the round, you'd be totally gasses out, and the punches that you are landing, wouldn't have any power on them, nor accuracy..

With Bamford, I think as he's chasing so hard, I actually think he's gassed out by the time it comes to the crunch, there are many examples of him chasing the ball around the defenders, the defenders buckle under the pressure then, Bamford gets slid in and he misses his chance to score.. he's has zero recovery time, it stands to reason that his shot at the end of the play simply doesn't have the power and accuracy behind it, which is why it falls short.

Try this lads, get yourself out on the street.. before you start, take a shot at your garage with a football, place it nicely... then, sprint up and down the street a couple of times, run up to the same ball and try and place it the same way...... let me know your results

I'm pants at football, but, recovery periods I do know about, and how to train to conserve energy is a complicated science. lets ends Bamford boxing training
