I’m not sure Tammy would make my top 20/30 best attackers list yet. Too early for him.

Based on the last five seasons, which is a reasonable amount of time for any top striker to apply their trade. Goals scored in all club competitions, not including Internationals.

Kane 21, 28, 35, 41, 24 = 159
Aguero 21, 29, 33, 30, 32 = 156
Aubameyang 39, 40, 21, 10, 31 = 141
Salah 9, 13, 19, 44, 27 = 112
Mane 10, 15, 13, 20, 26 = 84
Sterling 11, 11, 10, 23, 25 = 80

Pretty decent appraisal of where the current strikers sit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sandy mugging himself again as per usual.

Auba left Dortmund mid way through the season and joined Arsenal in Jan window. You've counted that split season as 2 (i.e 21+10 season).

In fact Auba has 166 goals in 5 years and 8 in 9 so far this season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, stats don;t take into account games played.

Auba has been tremendous specially since out of Aguerro and Kane, he plays in the worst team in the top 6
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope Arsenal are better than Man U and arguably Spurs. For info Auba has 166 goals in 230 games over 5 years

No, I was speaking just on form, I reckon he's well on his way to being top 10 in the league though if he keeps this up.

Aguero should be ahead of any striker on the list imo, after that you can pick your favourite between auba, kane and Firminho, but that's all subjective.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kane outscores Aguero over the past five years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
per game?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kane further down in that list. Although I suppose there is the argument if he played for a City or Liverpool..
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kane is playing for a far inferior side to City. If he was playing for City, you could have added perhaps another 20 or so goals, and Aguero had he been playing for Spurs maybe take off 20 goals.

Aubameyang does well, but three of those seasons were in a far inferior league. Not hard to score goals in the german league.

Debetable in that Aguero has played for more average City sides over the past 9 years, and his stats haven’t really faltered. Kane on the other hand, big stage?

Never really pushed this narrative before, but it was a factor, he was the worst player on the pitch. Risk that backfired.

As an unbiased fan of my own club, unlike some on this article, I would say that Kane has been overtaken by a few in the past year or 2. Aguero, Mane, Salah, Sterling, and Aub are ahead of him currently, purely on an attacking basis. The variety of their goals, their lethalness, setting up others in the area. Kane's form has declined a bit as an attacker, mainly because he drops too deep, and yes it does feel like he's been reliant on penalties to boost his stats lately.

As a player though I wouldn't like to say he's behind them because other parts of his game such as his hold up play and ability to pick out a pass are often top notch, and it's not like he's that far behind the others when going forward, just not as good as HE used to be a couple of years ago.

posted on 12/10/19

I remember after Kanes breakthrough season someone asked if they could, should Uniyed buy him for £40m.
Pretty much everybody scoffed at the idea.

Fast forward and he has outscored everyone over the last 5 seasons.

Why do people say this? Look at his Champions League record and record against the big six. It's as good as anyone's.

Not really, could of put England into the World Cup final had he looked up a few times in the semi. Again. Big stage.

As for his top record being as good as anyone’s, that’s b0llocks for starters. Messi has a better record against England’s top 6 and he doesn’t even play in the same league 🤣

Kane, as is spurs, has a poor record on the big stage. He will score against a top 6 team in november, but not in a big crunch game. Even if he doesnt it'll be a pen or something. He's a fantastic finisher, but there are still question marks for me whether to as he will be in the top bracket of strikers once it's all said and done, like aguero inevitably will be.
You don't get much a bigger moment than that qpr goal

posted on 15/10/19

I can only comment on when I’ve watched him, which is probably more than most would expect as I watch Spurs more often than most non spurs fans probably do due to family....

He’s never torn up trees against us, think he’s actually only scored one or two against City in half a dozen seasons.

Kane does have the advantage of a minimum of 10 games per season against the top 6 though 🤷‍♂️
