Three wins on the trot now and unbeaten in 5, it would be a real disappointment if we cant keep things going at home to Southampton on Saturday. The wins at Man City and Besiktas has restored optimism to last season's level and we would almost certainly return to the top half of the Premier League with three points in this one.

Be good to have a refreshed Jiminez back in the team and hopefully a fit Jota. Then the big team selection dilemma for Nuno is what do you do with Traore who is a contender for our player of the season so far.

Do we play 433 and put Traore and Jota either side of Jiminez? Or 452 with Traore instead of Doherty at wing back? Or 452 with Traore on the bench to use as an impact sub.

Not an easy choice for Nuno, but a nice dilemma to have.

Will be missing this one as I shall be in the Lower Rio Grande Valley covering all things nature. Got to fancy us to win though but that said these were the games we struggled in last year.

2-0 win in the corresponding fixture last year, and I for one would certainly take that again on Saturday. 🐝

See Ireland blew a great chance to pretty much qualify for the Euros yesterday, now they have to beat one of the Swiss or Danes in their two remaining games to make it.

At least they are still in with a chance, and remain undefeated in nearly two years since they appointed the current manager.

Incredible when you consider they have literally zero attacking options. 🐝

Yeah, it really is incredible, I hadn't even heard of David McGoldrick or Shane Long before but they both play in the prem apparently.

Is it 2019 now? October the 16th 2018 would be less than a year ago wouldn't it?

Fact check:- MM was appointed manager of R. of I. on 25th November 2018.

4 wins and 3 draws, (mostly against poor opposition.)

The starting 11 I would like to see for this game is

...........................Patricio
..........Bennett......Coady.........Boly
Doc..............Moutinho.......Neves.........Jonny
............Traore.....Jimenez........Jota

With Dendoncker missing Belgium's game again today with a stomach problem, I think that's the likely team gem

Yeah. 2018 and 2019 is two different years.

Well done Mick.

Yeah. Like I said, undefeated. Remarkable record with such a limited squad. The same squad went about a year without a win with the previous manager. 🐝

It’s been good to see the Republic doing well again since Mick has been there. Up to 29th in world rankings now and still in with a chance of qualifying ahead of the 8th ranked Swiss and 10th ranked Danes. The lad’s done well

Noticed that a lad called Frankowski scored for Poland tonight. Wonder if he is a son of Tomáš?

Prompted me to read up about the pole without a goal and he ended his career back in Poland and became a prolific scorer again going on to be the 3rd highest scorer in the history of the Polish League. He retired 12 years ago and is now poised to become an MEP in the next European elections

Four goals in four games against Gibraltar and Georgia ffs. It must be a feast for the eyes but yep the lads done well

Out of interest how are Ireland doing well 'again' now Mick is managing them when during the last qualifiers they finished second in their group and had a two leg play off to qualify?

A bold attacking line up against a side lacking in confidence, class and ability. I like it but suspect he'll go for two up front again and Dendoncker in the middle if fit.

With Saiss out and possibly the Donk, it's exposing the lack of defensive cover in the midfield. Just hope Neves and Moutinho come back unscathed.

Poor old Mick. Must be the most hated man in America.

Good to see that the irrational bitterness is still as strong as ever across the pond though 😂

Says a lot that Cinci has made many more comments about McCarthy this week than he did about Wolves beating Man City ✍️

Interested to read that Man Utd are struggling despite the fact that their current wage bill is the highest ever in British football
