I agree with what they're trying to achieve by the protests but going after public transport is just dumb and is only going to p!ss people off.

Surely to save the planet they should be happy at the people using the public transport, not protesting it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

All protests will piiiiisssss somebody off mate, that is the whole idea of protest, if if didn`t affect anybody, what would be the point. It is like having a strike, if it doesn`t affect the public, then why have one. Providing it is done peacefully, then it should be the right of every citizen in the UK to protest or withdraw their labour if the case so arises that they need to do so, without getting labelled as tree hugging lefties.

Pretty well everything that the modern generation have today was not won without some kind of struggle from our forefathers through protests of some kind or the other.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get the point Sandy but they're p!ssing ofd the wrong people. Someone who is using the tube will likely have a much lower carbon footprint than the guy who drives an hour to work everyday.

Targeting those who already have a lower carbon footprint is just dumb.

What I want to know is why those that are most concerned about people trying to get about their work, are on JA606 instead of working.

I myself am retired, so can post at this time of day without actually it affecting my working day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m currently unwell mate. Got out of hospital last week. Been off work for 2 months sick, so about the only thing I can do now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes I know that mate, hope you are on the road to recovery. I was only jesting.

The protestors could shoot a billion people and it would still be nothing in the grand scheme of things when it comes to the misery we'll be inflicting on current and future generations through our collective failure to act.

No problem mate, supporters would just have to walk. No big deal really, that is why we all have two legs.

Tin foil hat time.

This is such a bizarre target, and it really is a VERY bizarre target, can we be sure that these were in fact Extinction Rebellion protestors and not infiltrators determined to undermine their work?

Stranger things have happened after all

I’m not sure a lot of people understand their motives. They are after MAX exposure. They’ve throughout this round of protests asked the BBC to report on their cause to no real avail. They’ll keep dancing in the streets, glueing themselves to things and disrupting transport until that happens.

Fair play to them

We’ve all played our part in ruining the planet for future generations. It shouldn’t be down to them to fix it
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope they aren't using glue made from animals.

There are solutions, but people won’t like them! Less air travel, fewer kids, going vegan, that kind of thing!

Sure we can do something about all this bloody plastic though.

It was done by an affiliate group to XR.

On a recent poll conducted by XR to it’s members 73% (when I cast my vote) were against targeting the tube

I live very near Canning Town and have been delayed by these deluded fools this morning. I'd happily give these smug, mis-informed tw@ts a kicking - like my fellow commuters did this morning.

Go be a hippy in China

Must be bad if Sadiq Khan has condemned it.

Fair play to the commuters for dragging the cant off the roof of the train. Regardless of the cause if you try to stop folk earning a living you are risking a kicking.

I hope the people who were kicking the protestors while they were on the ground get jail time. They deserve it.

I have nothing against saving the planet. Infact i’m a big supporter of getting rid of plastics to save the oceans and animals, but what I can’t stand is a bunch of jobless id** going about their lives trying to disrupt and ruin normal workers commutes, plus disrupting and causing issues throughout the capital. Go and protest outside an embassy or something. No need to go and disrupt public transport. No wonder why people resorted to chucking that t*** off the tube.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don, you don`t know they are jobless mate, they could have been taken holiday from work to protest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Being paid to protest takes the sting out of that I'd imagine...

Commuters earning a living, most of them are living in million pound pads and earning an absolute fortune in that part of the City, half hour late for work will hardly affect their lifestyles.

We aint talking about dockers no more around the Canning Town area.
