Ed has tried a variety of different managers and styles, none of whom seem to be able to get a tune out of the players or take the club forward.
Thats when Ed needs to start looking at himself and the structure at the top of the club.
I don't see how anything will change there, turkeys don't vote for Christmas.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vida, iv asked repeatedly and nobody can give me an answer. Who are the obvious candidates that Ed overlooked when instead appointing Moyes, LVG and Jose?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What I am saying is, it doesn't matter what the managerial appointment is (right or wrong), the structure above them is set up to make it fail.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How so?

Ed Woodward has been the man at the helm during a period where we've gone from League Champions to 6th place (or worse!). Getting one manager wrong is understandable but he keeps getting it wrong.
I wouldn't advocate banishing him from the club but I would suggest getting a football person in on the board that can help the manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Losing SAF will do that to a club
And who were these obvious candidates he overlooked in favour of Moyes, LVG, and Jose ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've been through this before on here. Off the top of my head managers like Pep, Klopp, Conte, Ancelotti etc have been available as well as other managers that I probably don't know enough about. At the very least I'd have expected all of our managers to have a similar style. The fact they haven't suggests to me that our strategy has been short-term to say the least.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly it's not always about obvious candidates. A DoF would have had the knowledge and understanding of the game to bring in the right man to suit the club. Perhaps Klopp would have been persuaded if there was some sort of football structure at the club. I understand why the restructuring of the club wasn't done when SAF retired, it had worked for 26 years and lets be honest, how many of us were calling for a DoF at the time. Since then though 3 managers have been appointed and it's been mediocrity, and jumping from style to style. It's a farce. That's on Ed, and also on the Glazers for not recognising it.

The problem is that you can go on doing this ad infinitum, under username after username.
Why do you think you've been banned so many times? Do you think you've been harshly done by? That Admin has some kind of unfair agenda against you?
Here's some facts:
Ed Woodward in 2013 was promoted to the top top operational role at Old Trafford in a restructuring of the club's boardroom. Since then United have finished 7th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 2nd, 6th when in the previous 8 seasons they finished in the top 2.
That's why the vast majority on here think Ed is doing a poor job. He's overseen a dramatic dip in the footballing fortunes of the club. It really is that simple.

We all know that SAF retiring was a blow. However, surely the powers that be should have made sure when he left that there was a proper structure in place to cushion that blow and ensuring our continued success.
If you can see that here on JA606 then surely the club should have seen it to. I honestly think there's an arrogance about a lot of our board and chief exec thinking we're too big to fail. Woodward'a comments I've just seen tonight just smacks of arrogance or, perhaps even worse, shows he's blind to the issues at the club.
