Nothing like keeping the current players on their toes/ in fear of their place

I have literally no idea why people were expecting us to do loads of business in January.

That said, poch also said this before the January we signed Lucas - if an opportunity for a sensible transfer arises we'll no doubt try to capitalise.

But the idea we were gonna bring in signings worth upwards of £100m in a January window when we barely scraped that in the summer was pretty mental

There is no guarantee we will sign anyone so why raise hopes when it could end without any business.

On top of that, if Pochettino say we are going to buy players people will moan about him not making the current squad feel motivated to play if they are leaving.

If he says we have the quality and tries to add confidence to his players then he's getting criticised for not suggesting we need to improve.

Every man and their dog knows we need to improve.

Poch won't be there in January looking at the fixtures upcoming.

I think your clubs aim will be to sell players in January. Get whatever they can for the guys that have 6 months left of their contracts.

Never known a manager to contradict himself so much than Pochettino. Last week he was literally saying Jan transfer window will be the time we can change things. A week later it’s “ I’m happy with the team, we won’t be signing anyone “

It all depends what the expectations are from the club for this season, how ambitious they are, top 4 going to be difficult the way things are now.

Who would realistically want to come to us at the moment anyway? I'd think twice if I was a player... that said we have time to improve starting Sat.

I think he knows his time is nearly up Don. He won`t survive until the New Year, unless the results start picking up.

Poch has always spike in riddles. I would hardly take much note of his pressers. What is more telling is his body language, in regards to the overall harmony.

This is a confidence vote from Poch for our current squad, maybe one or two have been sulking a bit since it was made clear they are surplus to requirements long term. Poch is just trying to pat them on the back because he knows there are no guarantees much will change with this squad in January.
