The shirt was a steal at 149 quid. Comes with a book and only 1919 shirts have been made, all of them have an exclusive number making them extremely rare.
...people moaning about the price of stuff that wasn’t aimed at them...probably those who would expect Rolex’s should be sold to them for a tenner.
....typical of people who have no idea about how business runs
...typical from the ‘what about me’ brigade.
....probably the same as those who want us to spend more than we earn... or those that are angry that our owner(/s past and present) won’t bankrupt themselves to appease unrealistic fan expectations of Champions League glory by next week.
Some of the comments on this forum are embarrassing, not from the ones who probably don’t know any better, but from those who should.

What you bought ???
I’ve bought four stones and bought the book at £65
Century is once in a lifetime, and been ruined by poor greed by the club.
And at 38 years, I’ve had 30 season tickets on the bounce.
So I think I can have an thought on what the club.
What YOU invested in the club
don’t really matter what i bought.
don’t really matter whether i’ve never been a season ticket holder or not, or you’ve been a season ticket holder for 50 years
you’re chirping about what you’ve spent...which has absolutely no correlation with anything i was talking about.
..and you thinking a 100 years of history has been ‘ruined’ is a kind of reinforcement my points. cheers
Whilst a couple of things have irked me about this whole centenary the prices don’t really bother me.
I’d like a penthouse in LA, I can’t afford one though. That’s life.
What were people wanting? The gala dinner to be open to all at 30 per head? It’s hospitality not McDonalds
£149 for a shirt in my view is too much - but clearly 1919 others disagree. I could afford that price tag, but I've chose not too. I was a bit surprised with that price tag, but on reflection can see that it's a collectors item, so good luck to those who have got one.
There is a French version of this shirt which I posted a couple of months back, I think its priced at £90.
Why not do that so that as many fans as possible can actually get to wear the shirt, and then do one for £199 which has all the legends from last nights signatures on it, and sell say 10,000 of them.
Oh and change the badge into gold LUFC script and then you have a real winner with real nod to heritage.
How much does the book cost?
Sorry, I think you are wrong. Not about being able to 'afford' it, it's about whether or not a football shirt should be £149 or not and whether people feel it right to spend that on it. I can afford it if I REALLY wanted to spend that, but I can't be doing it because I have a young family and my wife would be livid, I already spend £1000 a year on tickets & travel.
Of course they sold out, because people know they are rare and that's kind of the point.
Only available in large too, which means not shirts for kids of anyone that isn't a overweight middle aged man.
It would have been great if loyal season ticket holders got sent them either with their season ticket, or available to purchase at a special price.
Not a huge amount of thought beyond the corporate world at all.
i think this is a very arrogant post.
Could always get this century book for £235

I don’t have any kids so Leeds United aren’t far off being the most important thing in my life, I could buy a shirt, have gone to the dinner but tbh I’m not that bothered the one thing i care about is the players who have helped make this club what it is and tomorrow when they are announced to the crowd especially the Revie boys I will have a tear in my eye, to me that will be the best bit of the centenary celebrations

Absolutely bang on.
65 grand for the shirt.....bargain!

Nothing arrogant about the post.
Fact is the club have put on a number of events to cater for those with no money to those that have too much and it’s not finished yet. We still have tonight’s cheaper event plus the prematch fanzone plus the legends on match day plus the free pizza after the game.
There is a range of centenary stuff for sale from a few quid to a few thousand.
The club went back to its origin and gave the revie boys a great thanks.
Really do not see what people were expecting?
It’s ironic that the free event was disgracefully attended

probably not even a thousand?!
....the rest of those wanting freebies are probably still at home waiting for their postie to deliver them personsally
I was there yesterday. You could have swung your tennis racket round there was that much room and behind those crowds you see there was huge empty areas. I’d say at its peak the square was 25% full at best.
The clip you’ve produced is when the first team squad were on stage and everybody surged to the stage making it look fuller.....but look beyond the crowds....empty. A clip at any other moment of the 3.5 hours would have looked very different.
just going back to Kebabs question... just what were some of you people expecting?
...perhaps the loads of freebies and stuff that were sent to every fan of Chelsea and Swansea (to pick two Premiership teams with far more dosh than us) who celebrated their centenaries in recent years? Look it up. They did nothing more than what Leeds are doing.
Time for some of you lot to grow up and smell the coffee...
In fact, it’s not the club that’s ‘ruined’ the centenary, it’s those on here with their constant moans creating a negativity cos they think they’ve missed out on something, and deflecting from the ‘celebration’ the other 99% of us are trying to enjoy.
Best thing ever given out by the club is the musical bottle opener,
About there only being one size, large, they are collector items. I know if I was a kid I'd want to wear it every day so one that fits would be nice but when they're adults they will apriciate it a lot more.
If only I didn't roll up those comic books I bought in the 60's and put them in my back pocket I'd be a richer man today./
Some people are just so miserable they focus their whole life on finding faults and moaning. I don’t know why. It doesn’t sound like much fun to me. Sounds tiring.
