PERSPECTIVE:

At the start of the season, many supporters were asking for progress, we finished just about mid table and a couple of points outside the Playoffs

Many would have taken a higher finish the season with a flirting with the playoffs as progress - and so far it has been

However, seeing how we played and the results we’ve got against the so called ‘big boys’ - away at Leeds, away to Swansea, away to Fulham etc inthinknits fear to say that we’ve held out own and should be well up there on

But once again, results against the less fancied teams - Hull and Wigan, have once again shown the old Forest to be still present and active

It’s results and performances like that, that are inexcusable - inept and lacklustre - they will be the failing of our season unless we can get out of the mindset of turning up and performing against the bigger teams, and then totally failing against the lesser fancied teams - that is not the material of a promotion bound team

Season past have proved the teams that go up automatically are the one who can grind out results against all teams and show that consistency - Forest are proving they just do not have that

And for me that is hugely disappointing, because up until Wigan, I had started to really believe we’d actually turned a corner and started to show I a little more consistency that had been so woefully lacking in season gone by - I really thought we might actually be top 2 material - but unfortunately, at present, we seem to be a long way from that

And that is hugely disappointing for me

Yes it’s early days, and there’s stillnlitabofntimw to turn things around, but we’ll need to start really showing our intent - and a win against lowly Reading really ought to be a high priority this Saturday

Anything less, and the manager really ought to start being a bit concerned

I don’t think any of Dawson, Semedo or Sow will be fit for tomorrow by the sounds of it. Dawson might be ready for Luton away.

Silva and Carvalho together are a definite no no on the evidence of the Hull game. Far too lightweight and were completely ineffective after the twenty minute mark. Yates needs to start for me. Need some good old fashioned work rate to give Watson a dog out. The other two don’t have that as part of their game. That’s not a problem as long as there are enough in the team that do.

Lolley and Ameobi need to have a real word with themselves after the last game. Not a single chance created for Grabban despite numerous crosses being send into the box. Cash is the most productive in the wide areas at the moment. Forest are lucky he isn’t afraid of taking on the opposition’s full backs and making things happen. Too many seem to be incapable of playing at pace and taking a chance. Cash is showing more senior players up at the moment.

Uncle Albert was targeted by Hull when he came on the other night. They put two men on him even though they were down to ten. This highlighted the lack of drive amongst the rest of the midfield as there should have been plenty of space created for them as a result.

Young Johnson also come to the fore as an option. He has been pretty impressive in the few run outs so far this season. A lot of pressure for a youngster at the sharp end of the league but if he is good enough then I saw put him in and shake up the senior players a bit. Agree with Rev, it was lacklustre the other night, and against Wigan. Lamouchi needs a reaction to prove to him and the crowd that Forest are contenders this season.

Won’t get to see this one from my Balearic perch. Will try and drop in and see how we are doing as the match progresses.

Could be 3-0 either way, I have absolutely no idea which Forest will turn up. Given a good start we could put the last two displays behind us, and show what we are capable of, however, the longer the game goes without Forest scoring, the more fragile our confidence will be, concede first and the pressure will really be on.

We are out of the record books, thanks uncle Fester, our 8-1 home defeat by the S c (u) has just been beaten 9-0, it’s a good weekend already, without kicking a ball, get in.

Those changes would be good but I think what might matter more is a slight tweak to the shape and tactics. If our fbs concentrated on defending more it would allow Lolley and Ameobi to play as conventional wingers, attack their fbs and give our central midfield more room.

Good point Dave. Also the bin robbers scored more away goals last night than the sheep did in the whole of their record breaking Premier League season.

What a start to the weekend. England tame the All Blacks! Fantastic performance. Even broke the no beer before lunch rule it was that tense.

Hard to imagine the rain whilst sat in 23* heat...😎

posted on 26/10/19

How does that happen? I would have thought they covered the pitch if heavy rain forecast?

Obviously not! Shame! We needed a win really. Next game will now be away and could lose three in a row!

Officially postponed

One way to not lose three in a week and to get time needed to bring back key injured players.

Great result today, not playing. Gives us time to get Dawson back, I know he is getting on, and will miss games, but his leadership is absolutely vital. Feet up in front of the TV, without having to bother too much. All we need now is for Leeds and the sheep to lose and it will be perfect. 👍😁

WBA down to 10 men but still manage to go and score so they’re now 2:1 up

Now that’s what a top 2 team does and looks like

Forest, take heed

And then they go and let in a 90th minute penalty

But they’re still definitely a top 2 team
