Fireworks: Should they be banned?

Dogs should be banned.
Okay, to be serious, perhaps breeding dogs that have difficulty breathing, and dealing with loud sounds etc is cruel practice to begin with?
Treating dogs as though they were human children does not help either. Keeping them groomed, shampoo'd,indoors, dressed up and carried around in trollies and handbags is not even good for children, let alone animals!
Dogs belong on farms, living in the great outdoors, being raised amongst noise and machinery etc. That is where they are happy. To start changing our ( humans ) way of life after centuries to please a few self-important pooch owners who regard their captive little animal as far more important than actual people is madness. As someone who deals with autism on a regular basis I can also confirm that changing the world to avoid working with these people from an early age is not good for them. Over-protection is counter-productive. So, in short..no.

Ban the private sale of fireworks, yes. Limit them to licensed displays.

The guy above is clearly talking a load of nonsense about dogs, but it’s not just that is it?

There are many issues that fireworks bring and ultimately, they are explosives.

Sadly I doubt a ban is coming but I would love there to be one.

Snowflake society at it again. I do however believe they should only be allowed on the 5th November, not a week earlier or later. Reduce the firework window not remove fireworks.

There’s nothing ‘snowflake’ about it.

My local pubs display was so impressive last year that Isis claimed responsibility for it!

Dogs to go first! If I wanted my crotch sniffed while I’m out walking I’d go to the appropriate establishment

Fireworks don’t bother me. It’s not like it’s every night of the year is it?

Anybody that wants to ban fireworks can suck my stool

"Who cares whether people’s dogs don’t like loud noises?"

Yeh, because that's it isn't it.

If you're going to get worked up about it, at least fully understand the objection.

Maybe not, but it goes on for about a month I'd say.

They are actually illegal over here which results in a black market for them around Halloween.

I can remember buying them as a kid in Moore street in town. Problem is these are not safety tested etc and often result in tragic accidents.

We need to stop pandering to dogs. They think they own the place now and were not allowed too say anything cos of fear of being called dogist. I'm not dogist my friend's best mate is a dog but as s country we've had enough! We've become overrun with dogs the countries full. Keep British Bulldogs and English Terriers and the others can leave.

No surprises that Winston the Lycra wearing big girls blouse doesn’t like it. He’s probably got a pug that he carries around in his handbag.

Well, that's a nice mature way to kick start a debate.

Well, injuries from fireworks have sharply risen - so I'm not sure the argument that it'd be more dangerous if made illegal stacks up.
