It can’t be a surprise to anyone we are operating at a loss right now.
We have gone from being being papped out of Europe by a team from Luxembourg, being horsed 5-0 in every OF game and finishing third in the Scottish prem to being highly competitive on all fronts within the space of 18 months.
That doesn’t come cheap.
In the longer term the squad will reduce in size and some assets will be sold to boost the coffers.
Hardly overly impressive figures but no surprise given the work being done.

Operating loss of 4m isn’t the worst seeing there was a good few couple wasted on legal fees, a poor take from retail and squad investment. Pay outs and numbers need to be cut, need to turn around our net transfer spend, sale of Morelos will likely do that in Jan or summer alone though. Then we’d be in a reasonable position.
------
The operating loss is £11.7m not £4m.
The numbers are horrendous and they're not just a one-off. Every year there are excuses and tales of jam tomorrow.
This just isn't sustainable.

Absolute and utter tosh. You were meant to be in profit and sustainable as per your chairman and boards promises.
All those loan to equity conversions leaves very little room for further activity in that area and despite record turnover and exposure the business is running at a loss equivalent to over 25% of its turnover with another set of legal expenses and potentially a lawsuit of a few more million. The loan to equity has also significantly diluted the potential share price for the future. All this despite a decent run in the UEFA cup.
It’s yet again another horrendous set of figures and no matter how you move the numbers around to try and show positivity, it’s essentially a mess.
But.
The team on the park is the best it’s been for years and that at the end of the day is the challenge we face.

Isn’t he making noises back home again about it being maybe earlier than that? He’s never hidden his wish to play in the EPL and isn’t it Palace sniffing around?
Kind of makes you wonder about the reputed wages Defoe is getting too.
Losing one or both of that calibre of player would scupper the chance you’ve got so I can only see you sticking with it and this being sheite or bust to end the 9/10.
Makes no sense financially but since when did that matter to fans?

Aye seen that. Ideally he’d stick around for a title challenge but if it came to that or bust then there’s no question Possibly get more cash in Jan too with English clubs desperate at that time.
Having Defoe to step in as as good a replacement we could probably get though, think he’ll stick around even after loan

I read yesterday the players who Rangers believe are sealable assets
All but Morelos are ridiculous
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ridiculous in what way?
Ridiculous to say there isn’t a good few who are clearly assets that will have a good sell on value if they continue this season as they have

We will obviously have to sell players soon. Morelos will be gone in the summer if not earlier.
Have a number of other players who will be sellable assets too at the rate their going now.

Isn’t he making noises back home again about it being maybe earlier than that? He’s never hidden his wish to play in the EPL and isn’t it Palace sniffing around?

Yeah. The only things of concern then is how much you’d get if he agitates for a move and of course the backlash from fans.

All the cool kids make massive losses. Let's all bury our heads in the sand and hope it all works out in the end
