Can't remember the ref's positioning but for me it was a stonewaller.

Stonewaller. Called it in real time - players reactions say it all. 1st goal let madden off the hook but I agree he’s the most capable ref by a mile.

Clear penalty but these things even themselves out. For our second goal, Eddy was clearly offside when he collected the ball. Yes I know that two wrongs don’t make a right but it didn’t matter in the end. Looking forward to the final.

Was that the Tory linesman that give Eddy onside. If so he’ll have to do a bit of bending over in the club this week 😂

They don't even themselves it. It was a coincidence that there was a couple of mistakes in the one game. That's not evening out.

One was a blatant hand ball. The other was a tight offside decision.

It’s what Celtic managers have said in the past and some we win and some we lose. Eddy was clearly offside of that there was no doubt.

There was obviously doubt in the stadium at the time.
Celtic managers generally say whatever suits them at the time. However I'm not sure that I recollect any of them saying that. Certainly not Stein or McNeill who were convinced that Scottish refs were against Celtic. As btw was Brendan Rodgers.

I can recollect BR saying it. I think that SG is on record as saying that Scottish refs give Rangers nuhing.

The long lost past of biased refs didn’t stop us winning 9 in a row and if we are good enough, we should do 10 in a row in the current era.

Think most of the Celtic fans’ armpits were offside. And foul.

any Celtic fan who thinks the refs are out to get are clearly out of their mind, 9 trophies on the spin and 8 leagues in a row

aye but

I don't think refs are out to get Celtic but I don't accept your argument.

Just because you're winning it doesn't mean that refs aren't trying to stop you. It's an argument often used by Rangers fans as if it's conclusive in some way. It isn't though

Think I’d prefer that VAR was used like tennis.

You get maybe 2 or 3 calls each. How often does a professional referee make awful calls in the one game?

Even him.

Has he had more than 6 bad calls in one game that resulted in a goal/non goal.

And even if so; and it’s proven by VAR, down the leagues he goes. Win win..

The use of VAR to disallow ‘Pool’s perfectly ONside “goal” yesterday was farcical, as all subsequent analysis has confirmed. Using the mental Stockley Park reasoning, the armpit was only offside because the dotted line they drew wasn’t even vertical!!! I suspect that was added after the event to cover up the clear howler. It was also based on a horizontal line drawn at the Villa defender’s foot ... in spite of images clearly showing his KNEE was clearly far closer to his own goal, so surely that has to be the measuring point?

As for Madden’s (or his lino’s) failure to see/give us a blatant pen yesterday, well it couldn’t have been any clearer. The non-offside was wrong too, altho it was half a yard and far less of a howler.
