Without controversy the media people would be out of jobs.

They tried to blow up the whole thing with Pep and Jurgen before yesterdays day. some of the headlines were ridiculous.
Klopp OUTRAGED, Klopp RAGING.. there was nothing like that at all.

I find the post match analysis on Sky / BT to be really boring allot of the time, even yesterday Jose was saying let's stop talking about the handball incident and went on to deliver some actual tactical analysis like how he spoke about how the full back shoudl always play on the inside of Salah, that's punditry as far as I see it not banging on about a potential dive or some marginal call.

Pep did really well in the post match interview, I thought he'd be livid, and I'm sure he was but he handled himself really well in it, like the OP says took none of Sky's nonsense looking to get a reaction.

with Salah playing on the right. Its not easy for the left back..
If they try and push him outwide. Salah will just run on the inside of the Left back onto the left backs wrong foot
I guess you could play a right back on the left side.

Spot on Jose bought up the KDB positioning and how it was all wrong but was never asked to explain why and instead wanted to focus on hand ball and Man City midtable defense.

the media love controversy and tragedy

There was lots to talk about in yesterdays game and people could have simply moved on from the handball. I thought Kompany said something interesting before the game, that the game would depend on Peps tactics.

Its clear Pep came for the win yesterday and we could argue all day if it was the right tactic but i think he had no confidence in his defence to hold Liverpool off so City played up the pitch but got punished by a team that is very good in transition.

I found it interesting how Klopp's team stood off City, they didnt press them aswell as they can. i also thought Rodri had a very good game, controlled the midfield and passed the ball very well.

Unlike some, I actually thought De Bruyne played in the right position behind Sergio, he just didnt play well but it was the right decision to play him there.

The best players were Liverpools fullbacks, astonishing how everything goes through them.Doubt I have ever seen more effective fullbacks since Pep's Barcelona.

Weird how the Liverpool formation makes their midfielders almost non-existent.I know they work hard for the team but its just weird watching a top team in world football and the midfielders dont dominate a game.

The return game will be interesting, Liverpool will probably sit back again, they defended very well as a block yesterday and they could easily get a point at the Etihad if they defend well.

Obviously Laporte back and maybe Sane will make it harder for them but if Pep doesnt mix up his tactics City could struggle again.

Our midfielders are there to fill the gaps when our fullbacks are high.

City fullbacks playing more defensively who come inside to join Rodri in midfield for their build up play.

Gunnersaurus, you didn't know fack about the strength of our fullbacks until yesterday.

We broke easily their press with Trent and Robbo switching the play with diagonal passes.

Ox will be in contention for the midfield role when he is fit enough for the off the ball work.

Fabinho scored, Henderson assisted and our midfield regularly just run teams over.

Rodri got booked, made a tackle once every half hour and got played arpund the rest of the time.

ok

I personally thought he ran the midfield, kept things ticking over while Henderson and Gini stood off him.
Fabinho is class bu t thats just about it. Like I said I am yet to see a very top team go almost 50 games unbeaten at home with an average midfielder like Henderson.

We could go back 50 years but thats my opinion. Maybe he will make it into the POTY team of the year this time but I doubt it. Nobody will vote for him

Perhaps Henderson isn't average? Maybe that's why.

I mean it could be you see something that Klopp doesn't, and this Liverpool side could be even better were it not for Henderson or maybe there is a reason Henderson is a mainstay in big games for arguably the best team on the planet.

Who’s opinion would you listen to, an ex pro who knows about the game or some no mark WUM on the internet?

Fair enough, hence I said I just find it weird how a dominant team can have a limited Midfielder in my opinion but lets leave it there.

At the end of the day teams are more about the sum of their parts.Peps best Barca side and probably the best club side ever consisted of the following players

1. Victor Valdes (Good player)
2. Dani Alves (World Class)
3. Eric Abidal (Good Player)
4. Jave Mascherano (Good Player)
5. Gerrard Pique (Good Player)
6. Busquets (World Class)
7. Xavi (World Class)
8. Iniesta (World class)
9. Villa (Good player)
10. Messi (Goat)
11. Pedro (average player)

In my opinion Pep had an even stronger side at Bayern and achieved less so football is like that.

Bit ridiculous to be honest.

I think Henderson being part of a successful Liverpool team just goes to show how good Klopp is at building a team and getting that team to perform better than the sum of its parts.

I watch Henderson for England and he looks like a carthorse.

I'm sure he's better than we give him credit for, but equally it's not some sort of evidence of lack of knowledge if you don't particularly rate him.

He's no Scott Brown

Southgate is an average manager who doesn't have a clue.

Henderson is deployed in an advanced role in our midfield who makes inside runs to drag opponent players out of position. This allows Trent to have space to make his crosses. His movement off the ball is right up there with the best.

Henderson is also one of the best crossers in our team. He has high energy to press for 90 minutes.
