Poor Pep

I think he's just a very emotional guy Jimmy, and that comes across on the sidelines, similar to Jurgen in that way.

While it was hilarious watching Pep on the sideline on Sunday can see why he was annoyed as it would have felt like everything went against him and city that day and in the build up.

I do think he only has maybe one more season at city left (although not familiar with his contractual situation). Him being so intense day n day out can only last for so long at a club.

He's historically gone to big clubs and achieved a great deal, but left on his own terms. That's quite cute really as he leaves before his legacy can be tainted. A lot of managers become stale over time after an initial period of great success (see Wenger).

I just wonder whether we're in a different era now when it comes to managers. Alex Ferguson achieved success year after year as did the likes of Bob Paisley before him. I'm just not sure that's as achievable as it used to be with the Premier League being so competitive and very difficult for one team to dominate. Man City had to keep a ridiculous level of form going to hold off Liverpool last season. I'm not sure that's sustainable over the long term.

I'm not sure what tripped him off the edge.

Maybe it was sterling's dive or something.

I mean you'd think he'd be used to floppers due to managing bernardo silva who threw himself down 3 times and each time got a free. Did we whine? nope.

I mean fair is fair lads, klopp lost the nut over their consolation goal being awarded so we can't exactly throw stones here. We do calm down and stop the childish reactions after a moment or two.

If i were liverpool players i'd watch my back around sterling however. You'll be hearing of a leg breaker in training next.

he fancies himself as an intellectual who would fit in with the great capitals of europe going to the opera and museums and such.

The reality is he's a ranty little man who's quite low brow.

Hes not really a dynasty manager tbf

Expect him to be looking for something new within the next 2 years or so

I can see why he lost the plot after not been given the first handball, which imo was a penalty every day of the week.
I do think if City win the CL, he'll be off for a new adventure.

His last CL win was 2011 so he probably feels it's been too long at this point

wouldnt call the first incident a non existent penalty, that could have easily been given, was defo a 50/50 call... one that you probably would have been aggrieved about yourself if the shoe was on the other foot

Hasn`t Pep won multiple Prem titles, something Klopp hasn`t done.

Did Bernard Silva handle the ball YES or NO ?, simple question.

Pep is a knobhead. Always petulant and arrogant in his actions.

Think he should just accept this season Liverpool have got even more solid and his side have regressed.

for me its soft, but theres no doubt softer ones have been given, then again clearer ones ignored like Alli vs Everton the other week, for me its not a pen but i accept in this day it probably is and i'd expect them to be given.

It worked out exactly how it should have, there was a handball by BS prior so any advantage for City would surely have had to have been pulled back, Oliver essentially whether intentionally or not idk played advantage Liverpool and we scored a cracking goal from it, and Clattenburg agrees.

As for Pep, guys one of the best managers around and top guy, hes emotional and competetive and it all seemed to get to him, understandably however desperate at the end. His contracts up same time as Klopps isnt it end of 20/21 season? Dont think he will stick around with or without a CL trophy win, but looks like hes been grooming Arteta as his successor.

from what ive read i dont think Klopp will be extending his stay either.

For me Klopp is a far superior manager to pep who has always taken on teams that you would expect to walk every league, barcelona, Bayern and Liverpool.

Klopp on the other hand has taken Dortmund and now liverpool and has had them both punching above their weight, something i dont think pep would have in him.

If pep does go, dont expect him to be taking over anyone other than the likes of PSG or Juve.

I know, hes being coy on that, and the only thing hes said is he wants to take a break after Liverpool, though this was before the end of last season, things change but i think he will be here maximum of 7 years only same as at Mainz and Dortmund.

I wish Pep would take an underdog job it'd be great for football fans, but hes no need to hes the best around at what he does atm, albeit not great in europe with all things considered.

Klopp is a freakshow almost every game, but yes focus on the one time añother manager feels hard done by.

Pep would live the Liverpool job but I’m unsure with him as he needs an open cheque book and our club lives well within its means

I believe Klopp to be a great manager and have said so. He's done a super job with you.
But Liverpool are not some backwater club with no money.
I'm sure he would have improved Sunderland say, and I'm equally sure they wouldn't be CL champions.

We are in Pep’s head. He can’t stop talking about us. Prime example he is asked about Ederson and rmds up taking about klopp

Well Pep certainly lives in the head of every Liverpool supporter on here, if not Jurgens, which I suspect he does.

liverpool had a net spend of about 165 million last season.. hardly being thrifty with the cash ffs

Thought he was very complimentary about Liverpool in his post match interview. He is most of the time, as is Klopp about us.
