Violence in the workplace

It's a completely different environment to what the majority of us are used to though, players would be squaring up in training all the time I'm sure. This just blew up cause Southgate dropped Sterling.

Mate I get that but it’s in the mainstream now.

It’s out of order.

Well, I'm sure I'd be fired, but as Kneerash says football is just totally bizarre when it comes to working environments.

You'd find plenty of managers who would be pleased if their players were getting into little scuffles at training. Maybe less than there would have been 10-15 years ago, but still plenty I'd imagine.

I had a bet on various outcomes in an accumulator

The final one (that let me down) was a card for Liverpool

When Gomez raises both hands and shoved Sterling in the chest I was baying for a card, rightly so, even if somewhat biased.

Surely Gomez was guilty of violence in the workplace?

Or did Michael Oliver not do me out of £80?

I'm talking in general, this wasn't in a game situation

assault is assault

if you think that's fine, great I'm sure your think differently when it happens in your lunch place with a colleague

professional football is not a regular workplace

skirmishes between players in training, in the changing rooms, etc happen all the time

professional footballers have to ensure other players dont view them as pusssies , etc and maintain respect

remember these are young blokes, playing a contact sport

a certain amount of aggression has to be there

dont know why such a big thing is being made of this....this sort of incident is normal in professional football

Dunno about everyone else's workplace, but in my workplace I don't have 50'000 people shouting bile at me for 90 minutes whilst I try to do my job.

End of futile debate

Stick 25 young, testosterone-fuelled, egotistical man-children together and you will occasionally get the odd skirmish.

Seriously cannot believe the mountain being made of this molehill.

Don't think using Joey Barton as an example to make your point ever works well
