Been happening for years. Hartson/Berkovic, Joey Barton, Balotelli etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They're all correctly identified as violent maniacs yet Sterling gets away with everything. He dived yesterday test nothing on MOTD he deliberately stamped on Van Dijk, first I heard about it.was.a couple of hours ago. Saint Sterling, Raheem Mandela pretends to be some moral voice of a generation yet what he actually is is an arrogant moron, yet the media swallows it all up and jumps up to his defence calling anyone who criticises him or boos him a racist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This bloke is defo a Tory
its because Southgate asked the FA what to do, and they said blame the City player, as they would

Yep. I'm sure he's copied and pasted the same comment onto the Daily Mail comments section.
So, given the past behaviour of your football club (fans included), what do you consider worse.....violence or racism in the workplace??

They did have a violent racist play for them in the past so those traits aren't mutually exclusive

Wow.

Wow what? I'm purely taking club bias aside and imagining if it happened to my club.

I'm talking in general, this wasn't in a game situation
assault is assault
if you think that's fine, great I'm sure your think differently when it happens in your lunch place with a colleague
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hang on! Are you saying in a game situation it’s different? It’s still their place of work!
Lunchtime or not it should be the same, I’ve known guys get into it on a works night out and get sacked!

Just wondering, do you get personal satisfaction out of bringing stuff like this up?
Also, why are you asking people who are very unlikely to have any association with the events you’re dredging up from decades ago?

Sterling’s actions were totally disgusting and unacceptable regardless of where it took place. He put his hands around the throat of another man with the intent to strangle and assault.
Any man on the street would receive a prison sentence for attempted murder/GBH. The same rule should apply to Raheem
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Slight over reaction there

I'm more questioning the continual victim mentality.

Continual victim mentality? That’s just another cliche that’s used on here by people with very low intelligence, who don’t know the actual origin of the insult.

Me too.
I'm talking about the OP giving complete Faux Outrage about a former player squaring up against a current player whilst forgetting that his entire football club, to too bottom, supported one of their own players even after he'd been proven guilty of racism. In the workplace.
Gomez is quite clearly the victim, no one should have to face the anger of a brute like Sterling even if you are 6 inches taller and you spent the weekend antagonising him.

then in every professional football club, players should be charged with GBH constantly....because what happened between sterling and gomez happens all the time in professional football

So if your football club has got something wrong, does that mean you can no longer have an opinion about anything else again? Seems strange.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing wrong with having an opinion, it's what football is about.
Let's just say Sterling had done the same to any other player from any other club. Would the OP have been as dramatic about it??
This is why I called it victim mentality. Whether you like it or not, it follows your club around.
