Me too.
I'm talking about the OP giving complete Faux Outrage about a former player squaring up against a current player whilst forgetting that his entire football club, to too bottom, supported one of their own players even after he'd been proven guilty of racism. In the workplace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
sounds like faux outrage on your part given that suarez wasn't proven guilty of anything.
other then biting various people of course.
Unfortunately, we don't know the severity of what happened, Gomez didn't seem too fussed based on reports, but Southgate thought is was severe enough that action was required.
But the "in any other workplace" argument is a difficult one; some things are tolerated in one industry or environment that wouldn't be in others.
You see these videos on Facebook from pages like "On the Tools" were grown men are giving each other wedgies, pulling each other's trousers down, throwing things at each others mid-sections etc. In that environment, that sort of stuff is deemed okay.
Do it as a teacher in a primary school and you're going on a register...
In a sporting environment, it's maybe expected that people will lose their rag a bit, maybe square-up to each other, pushing, scuffles even, so they get more ley-way when it does happen.
That kind of thing is less expected if you work in an office, for example.
What do you expect from someone with a tattoo of a machine gun on his body

So, given the past behaviour of your football club (fans included), what do you consider worse.....violence or racism in the workplace??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just wondering, do you get personal satisfaction out of bringing stuff like this up?
Also, why are you asking people who are very unlikely to have any association with the events you’re dredging up from decades ago?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Decades ago?? What do you think I'm referring to??
I'm more questioning the continual victim mentality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Continual victim mentality? That’s just another cliche that’s used on here by people with very low intelligence, who don’t know the actual origin of the insult.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm more than old enough and intelligent enough to know the origins of it and if you think what I say is incorrect, please prove me wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So it seems that you desperately want to believe that some thoroughly debunked lies were true (probably because you need to have a reason to feel superior to Liverpool fans).
If this was the other way round I don't think many would have Liverpool fans would be making much of a fuss but opposition fans would.
I think joe gomez career with England is over.
already half the England team are licking sterling's ballbag in support.
one could only conclude that had how not been fortunate enough to be immune from the race card in this instance thst sterling would have dropped it and gotten him labelled as well.
I can see gomez being quietly (not so quietly as we won't allow it) dropped in the run into the euros.

I have another question, what the fack is Gomez doing in the England squad in the first place? He can't get into Liverpool's defence ahead of Lovren so how he's in the England squad is beyond me. Typical Southgate though, if you're English and you're on the books of a big club then you're pretty much guaranteed a place in the squad. Same with Oxlade-Chamberlain, what is he doing there too? England selection is a facking joke.
Because Lovren isn't English.

Mings, Keane, Tarkowski, mount whilst at Derby, Gibson, Chilwell, cresswell, Mawson, Loftus cheek whilst at palace, Dunk, cork, Gray, Abraham.... all whilst playing for smaller clubs/ not playing at the top level. I bet there are more too.
Gomez fits how Southgate wants England to play. Why would he pick someone who may be playing more but doesn't have the attributes he wants from his CBs? The fact is that if Gomez hadn't got injured last season, he'd have started on the right of the back 3 for England after 2 motm performances for england. He wont start but what is the issue of southgate having him in the squad when he obviously rates him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally I think being selected for England should be based on form and he's not even playing for Liverpool. Honestly I'd have absolutely no issue if he was. Same with Oxlade-Chamberlain. I'm not saying anything about Trent or Henderson, they deserve to be there obviously, I just don't think it's right for players to be selected for the England squad when they're not turning out for their club every week. Is that not fair enough?

So he should select someone who he doesn't see competing for a place as they don't fit with what he wants over someone who has been very good under him and time spent training with the squad will benefit down the line? Gomez wont play, as he hasn't the last couple of squads. No harm in him working with the squad though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well considering Lewis Dunk has been left out for a player who doesn't play, it would appear somewhat unfair. Dunk plays week in week out, is solid, in good form, he's fit and actually has better pass accuracy so fits the style of play Southgate wants. So I think Dunk should be there instead.
Why not let Gomez play for the U21's while he still can? There's plenty of time for him to be involved in the full squad, preferably when he's putting in solid performances for Liverpool every week and then is there on merit.

I think the same about Hudson-Odoi too so this isn't just an anti-Liverpool thing, I don't think he should be there either. Harvey Barnes has played in seven of our games so far and only KDB has more assists in the PL and he's played in more games. So why is Hudson-Odoi in the squad but Barnes isn't? Does that seem right?
Barnes is another player who would benefit from being involved in the squad, a player who has huge potential and can learn but he's not there. This isn't me clammering for him to be involved by the way, if he was selected I'd have been very surprised but the point again is he's not made the squad because of a player who doesn't play for his club and I don't agree with that.
