Woooah let's not start justifying Pochettino and his bizarre Team Selections and Substitutions. Yes there are problems with the board, there are also problems at ground level too.

They're all to blame on different levels. Sorry to sound like a broken record but I've been saying this for 18 months....Its Levy's house of cards... It was never sustainable and we have got away with murder with Poch doing a great job and our rivals all suffering with issues of their own over the past 5 years...... Its all been done in the name of getting this facking stadium built. Now the pressure of it all has got to Poch, the players all look mentally and physically beat and are now gonna stick it to him..... We're pretty much facked. We don't have a youth system like Chelsea to fall back on and don't have the financial resources to rebuild this team to save the season. The form and results over the past 11 months are no coincidence

Quote from the linked article:

Danny Rose has vowed to run down the final 18 months of his Tottenham contract after being told by the club that he will not be given a new deal.
...

Rose insists there were no bids for him in the off-season and now says he will only leave Spurs when he becomes a free agent at the end of his current deal in June 2021.

-----------------

So the Club wanted to sell him, but there were no offers for the past TWO summers. Rose NOW says he will run down his contract...

OK so yeah it seems the Club wanted him out, but it can also allude to Rose himself testing the waters and seeing what was available. As there were no offers then he is left without an option but to stay and "run his contract down". You can't sell a player if no one wants to buy said player.

So either way, the whole situation from top down seems like a mess. Remember, this doesn't explain ALL what's going on. What with rumours Pichettino HIMSELF saying he was to leave IF we won the CL Final and black eyes and RUMOURS of team in-fighting, performing fornicated adultery with fellow team members' wives.

Bottom line, the we are in crisis regardless.

I believe something related to when players have black eyes. I don't believe they walked into lamp posts.

“Tottenham want rid of me”

Jeez, I wonder why!

Rumours. Where do they come from? If only the Club was transparent, open and honest with its financing paying punters. The only time I have heard a direct communication from the board was Levy's public statement on the new Stadium' Opening Day and it appeared to be heartfelt. Really lovely actually. Maybe it was typed up by he himself or maybe it was scripted. Either way, these forms of communication work wonders when forming a raport between Supporters and the Club we support. More of it is needed. Right now we are being treated like sh!t as no one is telling us "nuffink"

Make what you want of Danny's comments but the same is true of him, Jan, Toby & Eriksen.... They might not be as public as Danny but none of them give a shlt about the club and that in itself creates a problem within the squad. I see ZERO positive signals from the club that there is any chance of us turning this around (its nothing more than talk). We are losing to sides of greater quality and more importantly losing to sides we are better than simply because of their greater effort and better attitude.

Will a new manager solve these problems, probably not but what is true is that despite their contract messes Poch has a degree of loyalty to some of these guys and in the situation that Levy has left him in has no real choice but to pick players he otherwise wouldn't.... Really worrying times ahead of a game we have to win where commitment will likely be of greater importance than talent.... I really fear for Spurs, especially this summer when it all comes home to roost and selling Kane sadly becomes the best LT option for the club

There's a middle ground.

Id like to know what's made Rose feel this way though, why dothe club want him out?

It's classic Levy wanting to cash in on a player hitting 30 with a contract close to expiring

Levy has to take the slack for all these contracts being run down... previously he has been great in getting young players signed up, but always struggled with dealing with players at the other end of their careers.

posted on 13/11/19

Maybe Levy should pay up their contracts and move them out, just add a rider that they can't play for any other team whilst he's paying them wages, got to be a deal to be done in there.

I'm glad he's come out and said it, it might help to change a few of our fans' perceptions of what Poch has to work with from players and Levy.

i don't think anyone has exhonnerated levy from blame in this utter mess.... but none of this changes the fact that poch has delivered relegation performances and results for almost a year now, with a squad that should be doing much better, whether divided or not

But you start to see the reasons behind the drop in performances.

This is yet more evidence heaped on Levy that he is part of the problem, but people keep getting on Poch's back.

Said it many times but managers get far too much credit when things are going well and far too much grief when things go badly.

There is an article online kicking about with regards to Klopps last season at Dortmund which was very much a tale of two sides.

Statistically things were almost identical. One-half of the season delivered relegation form, the other champion form.

Manager doing the exact same things. Personally I think Poch should get until the end of the season but can see why people want him gone.

I bet no one comes in for Rose on the expiration of his contract and he will sign a new deal with his tail between his legs.

He has precious got this, a couple of years ago when he wanted a big move and was moaning how players like Walker were getting what they deserve. In the end I think only Everton showed any interest, and he came out with some co ck and bull story about how he was always committed to Spurs and regaining his place.

Stop talking and start improving

It's very interesting that the scorn on this thread is heavily weighted towards Rose when, in truth, this outburst is refreshingly honest and a symptom of bigger issues higher up. It's a clear glimpse into an otherwise foggy situation. If this were just Rose you could put it down to a personal situation but it's not. It's Rose, Verts, Toby and Eriksen (probably amongst others) - all hell-bent on running their contracts down to get a better deal elsewhere. It's not just about greed, but partly revenge for being paid well below their value.

The buck stops with Levy. Make no mistake. THIS is why we're failing, and none of it is Poch fault. I can't blame the players for wanting to leave and if I were the manager right now, I wouldn't blame him for moving on.

We will never get anywhere with this chairman. Simple as that.
