I hope international football is banned for ever. What a waste of time and it is boring.

The real liverpool fans with passion for their club don't give a fack about an England team which is supported by tory fans singing about Hillsborough.

Gomez is a victim of assault from Sterling. Media are scared to have a go at gangster wannabe Sterling after being harsh with him in the past. This is a guy who thinks having a gun tattoo is cool.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh grow up, he's a professional footballer and not even close to a being ' gangster wannabe'. You sound very ignorant and basic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"You a big man now yeah" sorry but he is definitely wannabe gangster
----------------------------------------------------------------------
errm not really ' it's exactly the same as someone saying ' come on then! let's ave it!' (which is said by a LARGE majority of players) but no....that's not wannabe gangster talk is it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does Harry Kane or Henderson have a machine gun tattoo on his leg?

After Sunday’s game a lot of ex players and pundits were bringing up the fact that Liverpool fans booing Sterling was to blame for his actions. Danny Rose, Trevor Sinclair, Micha Richards, I wonder if they’ll be in the media condemning England fans for booing Joe Gomez?

I won’t hold my breath!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to go down the Pundits route you only have to go back a few years and Thompson, Carra and other x players justifying England fans booing Stirling because of how he left poor Liverpool after a which hunt on Liverpool fan pages.
Both sets of pundits were 100% wrong
Both sets of fans were 100% wrong
Stirling admits he and not Gomez was to blame.
Lets just leave it at that.

Surprised by all the debate when the start of this shows clearly that Gomez was being aand antagonizing him toward the end of the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally agree. Southgate and sterling imo are bang out of order for criticising fans for booing Gomez. They are basically encouraging violence. Being a and antagonizing another player should NEVER be acceptable and Southgate should be ashamed of himself for encouraging it.

Exactly, it is all down to respect, Gomez clearly showed zero respect to Sterling toward the end of the game, deciding instead to wind him up. That said it is the culture of football, respect barely exists.

This somehow justifies Sterling kicking off at Gomez in the canteen whilst on England duty?

Who said it justifies anything? But for Sterling to kick off days later tells me he felt disrespected, which of course he was.

So what? Sterling should’ve been the ‘big man’ and got over it. That sort of thing goes on on the pitch all the time.

Pretty much sums it up. They all do it so it's ok. Great way to live life that.

Both Sterling and Gomez are first class professional players, each deserving of the praise that comes their way.
The incident in training, sterling’s apology, storm in a teacup, loss of face probably by Sterling, but he stood up to it. End of story.

Then comes yesterday’s game, and booing by individuals. Probably basking in their own glory, no doubt. And quite rightly so too. Because that’s the level of their intelligence.

Talk with them, see where they’re coming from, try to persuade them to see think and speak differently, persuade them to see the potential dame they were doing?

Nah. Beyond their intelligence, beyond hope of reason.

All clubs have individuals of that ilk. They seem to think, no, truly believe, that if they’ve paid for the ticket then it’s open house to do or say anything.

There’s nothing that truly can be done about them. Append any derogatory title you wish about them, but it doesn’t change them. The ‘stick and stones ...’ quote still rings true, but if they can persuaded to go away and not come back, that would be a good thing.

Currently, and I’m sure for the future, Joe Gomez is fast becoming a world-class player and deserves better.

Ignore the boos, Joe, you ARE better.

Well said Jimmy

It reminds me of the days John Barnes got booed by England fans. Stuck in the dark ages yet get offended when our players get racially abused.

I think Southgate has made the right call today by dropping Gomez. His antics last Sunday clearly provoked Sterling and he deserves to be punished for it.
