Worst is Jon Moss, I'm not sure that is debatable really. Atkinson probably next.
How many pag would it take to list cheating players?
This is English football, we do not do diving, feigning injury, surrounding the ref or card waving.
They all make mistakes, if too many they get stood down for a while.
I don't believe any are bent, and they all get most decisions right, but we only notice the wrong ones.
They are not the problem, players are.

Amazing that she hasn’t been fast tracked to being a ref, she’s very good on the line.

well...as far as VAR goes....not one of them has the courage of their convictions & mind set to actually go walk to the monitor provided & actually check their work...they'd all rather sit back & let someone else take the flak
As far as personalities go....I have no favourites - I'd just like them to stand up & be counted
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It still baffles me that the refs in the PL refuse to walk across the field and go watch the monitor provided to them for VAR and make their own decisions.
The other top leagues around Europe do it and they don't seem to have many of the same problems that we have here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I dont have an issue with that. You have supposed top officials at Stockley park who can make the decision. As soon as the refs go to the monitor we will all moan how long it takes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
utter rubbish...have you watched how long it takes for the VAR to come to a decision...example
Dele Alli handball two weeks ago - hand clearly up in an unnatural position..handles the ball quite clearly in the area...
Four fackin minutes it took...& then they come to the decision that it wasn't handball...despite the current rules stating that it was
So I'm afriad that doesn't stack up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes that was referee incompetence. if the ref went to the screen there is no guarantees then it will get overturned. First of all you will have the Stockly park official look at it and then he will tell the on field ref that they should look at the screen. That will take a few minutes to do.
Ref has to trust the guy in the office. I don't see nothing wrong with that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah he does....but there's nothing to stop the ref going to the monitor at the same time...& then having the conversation with the VAR guys...
This still doesn't address the four minutes someone else took to get to the wrong decision

In my experience, they're two quite different skill sets and it doesn't always follow that good assistants are developed into referees.

They are all shiiiit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is true, sadly.
That is an example above. Dele Alli could just say if he handled it or not. No stoppage, no Var, no problem for the ref. But he would rather pretend he didn't.
Sian Massey has done excellently in her career, because average or middle-of-the-road wasn't going to be enough for her. Most assistants in the Premier League won't receive overt criticism because they're essentially anonymous; yes, their names get read out before each match but nobody really takes any notice. Sian Massey stands out or obvious reasons, so it's inevitable that fans across the country were going to watch her performances like hawks - some with pre-conceived judgements about whether women should be officiating men's football matches at all. The fact that people are not just not asking this question but would likely also see her as an example of why nobody would have any issue with more female assistants going forward is to her great credit.
Winston does make a good point though: I think her becoming a ref (if indeed she wants to, I don't know) would be another massive step to take. I think the players would be ok with it, but some fans in the stadium could be problematic, and at the first sign of problems/weakness sections of them and social media would be all over her. (Sad but that's the practicality.)

I'm actually not sure on that one.
I understand that under current rules there's a strong case for it, but I still think that one was disputable.
For me, it's the constant exaggeration of contact that is the real problem. It's impossible for referees to work out the true impact of a challenge when every single player is making out it's worse than it is.
I haven't seen it Winston, so was just going on the comments above. So you may well be correct, but there are other clear examples of fouls and handball in the area, but nobody ever just admits it with good grace.
I do agree about the contact and the exaggeration.

Dean and Atkinson are a joke. They shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a football pitch. Atkinson this season has caused mayhem and should be sacked immediately.
It's the players that cause the mayhem.
Atkinson has caused mayhem though.
Surprised this is even up for debate.
John Moss is the worst although Atkinson isn't far behind, then a large improvement to the likes of Taylor and Dean who themselves are still terrible.
The rest are a bit meh, sometimes ok but have the occasional shocker.
Oliver the best comfortably. Marriner, Scott and Friend are some of the better ones.

You'd say that though , wouldn't you? I honestly think he wears a Liverpool shirt underneath his ref shirt when he's officiating at Anfield
For me, the refs should be held accountable and made to do post mach interviews to explain their decisions, just like players, coaches and managers do.
Also, we all know the refs did not want VAR to start with, so I think they are deliberately making it look controversal, and they are deliberately making it seem useless just to get rid of it, because they know ultimately, VAR will show up the incompetent refs for what they are.
LordDowlias.
Completely disagree. I've never heard a player be questioned if he dived, or cheated in any way, they don't explain why they rolled around as if shot. so why should refs.
If refs came on and said why they made a decision half the 'expert' fans would disagree, and they would just get more abuse.
And if you really think they are making Var look poor, then you are deluded. If it worked well their job would be much simpler.

It's OK, fine to disagree, thats what makes places like this healthy....ish.
If the person doing the interview had the balls to ask a player whether he dived or not then we could have some seriously interesting post match interviews, and it might, yes might, put a stop to all the cheating.
