The sad thing is that by appointing Mourinho you're sort of doing away with the idea of starting a project, and just getting a quick fix for 2 or 3 seasons. What can you really build for in 2 seasons? Is he going to get us competing for a title in that time? I severely doubt that with where we are. And if we were in the position of challenging for a title, he'd be gone the following season and we'd be back where we are now.

Look at Chelsea - their winning mindset grew from Jose's time there. They have quality players and characters that kept this going after Jose but they were elevated to much improved status.
If a quick fix works then what is the harm in it and particularly when we have a really strong core of players who do not need a high risk rebuild with a rookie manager who might waste the next 2 or 3 seasons of their short careers.
Poch has laid the ground work, Levy has contributed with the Stadium and the finances, now we need a finisher to get some silverware through the door....I would have preferred it not to be Jose but someone of this 'oven ready' quality was needed.

I think you’re ignoring the fact that his last two jobs have ended in tears. It was completely toxic at Chelsea under his tenure and most of the players hated him by the end and he threw a complete strop at United because he didn’t get what he wanted. He’s a very different character to the young enigmatic fresh faced manager that arrived at Chelsea over 15 years ago.
I’ve no doubt he will win you silverware, but I’ve also no doubt that he will cost you a fortune, isolate certain players, ignore the academy, fall out with Levy and be gone within 2 years. During this time your football will be terrible to watch and you’ll start losing the identity Spurs have worked and built towards over the last 5 years

Such a funny managerial appointment. Thought Levy was smarter than that, but to make two incredibly stupid and moronic decisions in the space of 12 hours is just mindboggling. Sacking Poch. Stupid but ok fair enough, Levy felt he needed to move on from him. Nothing wrong with that, but then to get Mourinho, the guy that's soured his relationships with all and sundry with his last 3 clubs as his replacement...

For some strange reason, people are giving Levy credit for the last 5 years. All that's happened in that time is that he got lucky with the Poch appointment. Poch despite being hindered with Levys penny pinching and no signings for 18 months made the 5 years what they were. As for people giving Levy credit for the Stadium...pffft. Over budget and delayed like MK pointed out. Levy has been at the helm for almost two decades, going through 12 managers and only 1 trophy to show for it. He's the guy that should be going. I just really hope the cockroach has got it right with the Mourinho appointment.

Yup..... Dunno what all the fuss is about, people acting like we just sold Kane for buttons !! We just sacked a manager who's never won a thing and was,by the stats, the worst performing manager (in any league) in the country in 2019.
If Poch was desperate to stay at Spurs he had a funny way of showing in both in terms of results and his public comments.... No big deal. Spurs will be fine.
