Amazon primes football coverage is actually quite amazing when you look at it.
They have invested in showing all the games at the same time and have basically hired everyone except Liniker.
I already have prime so I've got these games for free and I also have Netflix so personally I'm praying they enter the market place too.
As a side note, I'd imagine amazon would be keen to feature us as they already have a documentary about us on their service which o obviously helps with brand recognition.
to be honest... I'd rather just watch football on one channel, frustrating having to have BT, Sky Sports, Amazon etc etc…
and Boxing don't get me started...
The prime coverage of tennis is generally good now. No need to record as you can always choose match from start on prime and watch at your leisure and on any device.
Watching the game in proper 4K was amazing.
Said it for years sky needs football, not the other way round.
But I’ll back sky up, without their investment, football would have been finished in this country. It was dead.
And whilst everyone complains about them. Football never been as popular (pre 1950s) and crowds bigger than ever, even at huge cost

not sure it would be dead, as there's no other sport even close to the popularity of football in the UK..
everything else is spot on.
You forget how bad football was.
Empty broken grounds
Poor pitches
Barely any tv coverage
It was dying mate.
It'd be great if there was a netflix type football channel where you could watch any game you want for a monthly fix fee thats less than sky sports
I have Sky, Netflix and Prime so im ok but im not sure Sky will have the monopoli in the future as other services may come that are better. Sky seems to expensive now for what it is and i think they might have to lower their prices if they want to keep the stranglehold of footy
I'd probably get the sports package on Now TV if they had the red button option. Think they are missing a rick with that one.
Amazon have so much money it’s untrue, if they want they outbid sky every time.
Think if there has been an uptake in subscriptions and they get good numbers of views then they will enter the market fully next year.
Amazon have entered this quite wisely If you thin’ about it.
By having all the games in December it’s much easier for them to look at new user uptake as it’s not spread out over a year it’s everyone at once getting a membership so they can watch the games.
I’m less sure then I was before that Netflix will enter the market, however amazon will probably continue now they have dipped their toes in.
Personally I’m really happy about it, I’m getting something pretty great for a service I already have anyway.
Way I look at it is I’m actually getting these for free as it’s costing me nothing new to view these games on my tv
Amazon have played it well here. Adds an extra incentive for people to get prime as some people have it just for the free deliveries so it may persuade more people to get it.
LIW.. that’s a really good point actually!
I still dont think it would lost popularity to become dead.. but completely agree those things are better now! Totally
Don’t think Netflix will get involved
But with Apple now doing it’s on tv streaming. They have the cash to do it

Isint the only place they make money on iPhone sales which are down overall?
If imagine that with a new service they would be a little reluctant to spend such a large amount for premiership rights when they dont have a user base yet to make the purchase worthwhile.
Having said that, they may look at it as a way to pull in a large customer base.
One thing I think though is bt and sky must be looking at is their presenting talent pool, cause if amazon enter they will easily poach every well known presenter going, they did it for their December run of games and would do it if they decided to enter the market full time
