I doubt Fernandes would, and his wages would be far less than Bale’s. Basically a financial package for Fernandes would be less than one for Bale. And Mourinho’s already admitted one of those is out of Spurs’ league.
Then there’s the implications of having a player like Bale on your wage bill. Just look at the mess Sanchez caused at United, and our players were all handsomely paid as well.
You think players like Kane, Alli and Son will be happy getting paid half Bale’s wages while considerably outperforming him on the pitch?
Ed Woodward wouldn’t touch Bale, I’d be shocked if Levy does.

Don - Sancho or Bale?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sancho for me easily
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really that easy. Sancho is nowhere near the finished article and is actually having quite a poor season. Needs to prove himself a little more before people start really waxing lyrical about him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sancho has 7 goals and 9 assists this season.
World class Gareth bale has 2 goals and 2 assists
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you honestly telling me that Sancho is better than Bale ?give it a bloody rest. I couldn’t careless about those stats, we have more chance of winning stuff than bale in the team than we would Sancho, now that’s a fact.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel like you're basing this solely on the fact that bale is a big name player and sancho is just a youngster.
Im not saying that sancho is definitely better than bale - it's not a comparison I've given much consideration tbh. But it's not like bale is streets ahead of him ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bale is currently the better player and is streets ahead of him in terms of pedigree right now and titles won in his career, so there’s no real comparison mate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course there's a comparison.
Just because bale has won more and has more "pedigree" doesnt mean he's better right now
If we're speaking strictly in terms of on field production it's probably harder to argue that bale is better than sancho right now
Bale obviously has the big game credentials though, but its not a nonsense suggestion to say sancho is better

Would rather have Bale mate because in the short term we need to win silverware and Bale will give the club a better chance of achieving that than Sancho.
Why are we talking about signing Sancho and Bale?

Someone else bought up Sancho. I bought up Bale because of his interesting comments.
If we're playing fantasy football than I'd rather have odegaard than bale from madrid
Could see Bale ending up at PSG. Madrid will throw everything at them for Mbappe this summer, PSG wouldn’t bat an eyelid at his wages either.
The one thing that has amazed me is how many of our fans believe Jose is happy with our prudent transfer strategy and believe he will unearth some unknown gems from across Europe. This is the same manager that wanted to pay 60m for Eric Dier. The same Eric Dier that many of you were so venomous about being near our starting 11 under Pochettino.
Bale just like Jose as manager comes with a certain degree of PR and media attention. The appointment/transfer probably pays for itself in Levy’s eyes.
I understand the allure of Bale, but given the financial out lay both upfront and in wages, wouldn’t that money be better spent elsewhere in the squad - regardless of whether it’s an up and comer or a bit time player?
Up front (Kane, Son, Dele, Moura, Lamela, and potentially Sessegnon) is where were fine in depth and quality. I’m not suggesting they can’t be improved, and Bale on his day would do that, but I really think we need to address the problems further back - GK / across the back four and in CM.
Even if it was feasible, would much rather spend the money on a DM.

EXactly my point. Bale comes with huge pedigree and would be a massive coup, despite some of the negativity on here in regards to us buying him. Let’s jusr see what happens in Jan hey
It would make sense if Bale's wage wasn't astronomical. Even at £200,000 a week it would be a good deal for Spurs but he is on double that.
Had to bump this will he or won’t he ? I did say he would be back at Spurs one day

Still waiting out. Can never tell with Levy, but if he provides Mourinho with Bale, Reguilón and a striker, then no reason for me to go in on Levy
