Oh no another dreaded "winnable games" article.

A spanking by City will being the confidence right back down, really hope we give them a decent game and a good account of ourselves. I think we'll sit off them too much and show them too much respect personally.

We will. Expect us to score in the counter, might suit us..if we can keep them out.

Too often we’ve said we look like we have a nice run of fixtures to then go and mess it up. Our issue is inconsistency, especially when we play lesser teams and we fail to raise our game enough.

Think we need to just take each game one at a time rather than think we can go on a run right now.

There was something that certainly felt different about last night, think it was the combination of a performance AND a result against a squad man for man better than ours. Again not getting ahead of myself, but it was an enjoyable from a United perspective

Pogba needs to come back tbh and so does martial soon and they could make a big impact. We should sign at least one midfielder this window, maybe if possible.

Not overly convinced he will actually improve the team. He'll certainly add creativity, but at the expense of soliditty. Either way, good to have the option.

I know it’s obvious, but it’ll depend on which United side decides to turn up.

I can see us either getting battered, or faring decent against City, due to the way they play and our strengths (of little we have)

We have a modest decent record against City at the Etihad post SAF era. But it’s important that we keep our concentration and play to our strengths.

I think City will be quite wary of Rashford on Saturday.

Here’s hoping that Rashforddinho plays another beauty in another big game

Rashford was superb last night, he could get at city in that sort of mood.

For all the flak that Rashford sometimes gets (deservedly) there is no better attacker to rely on than him, when it comes to these kinds of fixtures.

He’s only 22, yet he already has good experience against tough opponents. And knows how to play against them.

Playing against attacking teams gets the best out of him. He struggles against defensive teams where he can't rely on pace, I think city may suit him.

------------------------------------------

Is it deserved though?

Obviously everybody is going to get a bit of criticism now and again which is fine but some of the abuse that's been aimed at Rashford and the names people call him are pathetic.

As you say he's only 22, just. People need to cut him some slack the next time his form suffers which it will at some point.

He has his flaws but he's a big talent.

Just looking at the fixture list. We have City away, and Liverpool away mid January. Apart from these we seem to have mostly winnable games.

This arrogance is how Robb fell on his own ar5e regularly.

Which is why i mentioned 'sometimes'.

He has his inconsistencies, and yes he is still young and has a long way to go still. But when he's poor, he has been frustrating.

However, saying that he is the one attacking player that i can rely on who can put in a performance or at the very least - grab important goals in these big games. To do that consistently, you have to be talented.

He's still raw at times, but hopefully he will gain that consistency and be a top performer (like last night for example) on a more regular basis.

We've had a few players improve under Ole and Rashford is one of them.

If Man Utd can start finishing better then I can see us scraping top 4 but with our poor efficiency at both ends, top 6 is best we can get. Amazingly really Solskjaer has us near title winning stats since he came in and we have been on a dreadful run of form. We

Man City will be up against a side who allowed the fewest quality chances in the PL so maybe 1 goal will be enough but considering we normally concede more goals than expected and have done since pretty much March of last season and score less goals than expected, we need to fluke a win.

posted on 6/12/19

I say fluke a win as in maybe we are due a result that we don't deserve. Honestly can't remember last game we won with us having worse expected goals as we dominate nearly every game on expected goals bar the ones ref cheat us.

Man Utd are 2nd on expected points away but have conceded a lot more goals than expected and scored a lot less goals than expected. Time we get a lucky win?
