This is another area where having quiet transfer windows will have an effect on our bigger stars ambitions. Hopefully in January we show them that we do still mean business.

There are generally only two threads on here a week, a preview and a match thread, so I’m not sure what the advantage of losing one would be unless it’s part of the countdown to oblivion

Really? Is there any need for that? This is a preview thread for people to comment and put there views forward prior to the game, The only reason I do it is because you are too feckin bone idle to post your amazing match thread mor than 3 hours before kick off.

The remarks Jiminez made are being reported in Spain by Marca. his Dad asked him if he'd go to a "top 6 club" to which he replied Im at one. But also went on to say he wouldn't be phased by a move if big money came in and the club wanted were tempted to sell. Im paraphrasing by the way.

It’s stories like this that were my concern when people said they would be happy for us to finish lower in the league this season than last. The only way we will hold on to our manager and best players is if the club keeps moving in the right direction. Being in the top 6 and still in Europe has to be positive at this stage.

Basicly what happened was this:

2 people, let's call them bloke A (someone who makes the tea in the Daily Mail's office) and bloke B (someone who once met Raul's agent in a pub toilet):

Bloke A: "So do you think Jimenez will stay at Wolves?"
Bloke B: "I've heard he's very happy at Wolves, scoring goals, playing in Europe and generally content."
Bloke A: "But surely he'd rather be playing at a big club?"
Bloke B: "I suppose you can never rule anything out at some time in the future."
Bloke A: "What about a return to La Liga?"
Bloke B: "Well he's done that, but you never know."

Bloke A to the Daily Mail's sport sub-editor: "Wolves striker Raul Jimenez says he fancies a move to a bigger club and would like to return to La Liga in the future."

Probably close to the truth wulfrun. The other thing is if any player was asked if they were open to a move to a top club, why on earth would they say no, regardless of how happy they were at their current club. It doesn't mean they would actually press for that move

We just need to ensure that if and when he moves on, we have someone as good or preferably better to replace him.

Have noticed that Chelsea fans seem to be very keen on him now that their transfer ban has been lifted.

The sad thing is that it feels to me that we will likely have to sell a star here and there to really push on as it seems judging by our last two windows that Fosun won't be going crazy in any transfer window.

Reading some comments on molmix and as ever amazed by the absolute stupidity of some fans. Actually begging for us to be drawn against the likes of Ajax and Inter now rather than later ffs

No games will be easy but would be great to have a more manageable one next round with a good chance of last 16 and then who knows.

Last 32 would be the break even point and i would hope we can at least go one round beyond that.

Looks like it may not be a sell out tomorrow, probably due to the speculation about weakened teams. Only about 700 left in the home areas though

Give them a couple of seasons, they only just got back to La Lige. I went to watch them play a few weeks ago - they're not very good
Theye got beaten by Barca 5-2 at the weekend thanks to a Messi hattrick

I saw Mallorca at the Camp Nou many years ago. Samuel Eto got both goals as Barca won 2-0.
