People are acting like if it starts going to.shıt that we wont get a chance to.rectify it with another vote in a few years

Chill out, see how it goes, and if it is shıt, well just vote them out next time,

Now let's go.to.thw Winchester for a pint and wait for all this to blow over. Simples

But everyone pretty much is agreeing that both candidates are massive cūnts, not supporting one or the other blindly like the ridiculous Hitler comparisons
_______________

Well, clearly that's how a lot of people feel. But you must feel that Corbyn is a of astronomical proportions to take a punt on Boris, when he hasn't really given any policies apart from 'Get Brexit Done', has a history of calling the working man, women & minorities some pretty awful things, has lied all the way through & is so weak in interviews that he actually hid in a fridge rather than face confrontation.

Doesn't bode well for how he'll hold up in negotiations or dealing with world leaders.

It’s sad but it’s surely the end for Corbyn. Too divisive a figure, clearly. Even if his composure in live debates etc made both May and Johnson seem like gibbering imbeciles, too many people were dead against him as leader. Labour need someone younger and a bit more hard-headed.

I get ya, I do, but again there are gonna be countless opportunities to swing back the other way in future elections

That's why I pay no attention when candidates start banging on about their 10, 20 year plans in their manifestos

The likelihood is, in that time we're bound to see 3-4 changes in government

Agree. Genuinely think though that one of those 3/4 changes will be the NHS. Travesty if we lose it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

How’s that pedantic? Your point seems to rest on governments not being in power for over a decade, when they often are. It’s one of the things that worries people if the Tories get a majority. No need for another election in two years and it might take at least one more for Labour to get it right now, as there will surely be a leadership change. Could easily be a decade of Tories just starting from today.

posted on 13/12/19

Which would be 20 years of Tory rule. I dread to think what state the country will be in by then.

You could never look at it objectively when you're in that time.

I mean, I don't think we're going in a good direction but I also don't think we're as bad as 1939 Germany. But Hitler got into power legitimately and worked those people well, which has parallels here.

Lots of arguments on here for and against. Personally the main thing for me was the NHS. its a privilege we take for granted but I think the minute itll cost 500 for treatment will be the day people new they facked up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think pennies will start to drop as Brexit trade talks get serious and economic impact starts to bite. That will happen quicker than the NHS going to complete ruin. The DUP have already realised Boris isn't what they want.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m not so sure. I think people are too entrenched, especially where Brexit is concerned, and their ego will force many to stick with their Tory/Brexit backing. This General Election perfectly illustrates this, despite what we now now three years from the vote, and after nine years of Tory rule.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don’t think so mate. You’ve just got a former mining town, Labour stronghold for 50 years who just changed to blue. Currently we are a nation of “im alright me jacks”, but I’d like to see how entrenched some of these are if that ever changes

Are we? Or, at least, is that the issue with the last couple of elections and the referendum? Surely Brexit was more about people who weren’t “alright” and wanted to make a sort of protest vote against the establishment (not every Leave voter, of course).

This is what I find so baffling. In a country where it’s so easy to be deemed to have said the wrong thing, to have offended or hurt someone, where so many are (apparently) hyper-aware of the inner lives of others, this sort of narrow-minded, smirking nastiness seems to be the political order of the day.
