Half the squad "want to leave".

As much as we've relied upon Auba, I think his brother has set it up perfectly for Arteta to come in and, should the player show the even slightest bit of dissent, immediately wield the axe and impose his authority.

Let's face it, Auba isn't renewing his contract, so will need to be sold during the summer anyway.

Fingers crossed it doesn't come to it, but if he's sold before that we'll be fine. Possibly even better off, if the money we get for him is properly reinvested in the squad.

How much are you realistically going to get for a thirty year old who is desperate to leave? Also, it is Arsenal, we sell for peanuts! But will get his wages of the books.

Big clubs will always buy proven goalscorers. How much we get for him is up to Raul and co.

I see a lot of player comments as a way of staking their place in the team. Players don't know who Arteta will select and who will be discarded. For Lacazette and Auba its a negotiating tactic. What I find hilarious is when players over estimate their worth. Its actually ironic that fans here seem to be ignoring the fact that the only player who has any worth in the market is Auba. And the only reason for that is he is the only one still performing in an under performing team. Auba actually doesn't need to make any noises because if refuses to sign the contract, Arsenal can easily find a buyer for him. But by selling him Jan do we want to invite a relegation battle?

For Laca and Xhaka to be making noises though is incredulous. Do they really believe that fans want them to stay or Arteta will be under any obligation to play to the gallery concerning those two? They haven't contributed at all to the team this season. In fact not much in the entire time they have been at Arsenal. Selling them sooner than later will not impact results whatsoever. Their replacements may even help to improve results!

We will make a loss on all sales. No one in their right mind is splashing 30,000,000 on Xhaka, or 46,000,000 on Lacca, 56,000,000 on Aubameyang... doubt we will break even on the 26,000,000 for Torreria if he goes but we could :/

Club needs to realise recruitment has been poor, bite the bullet and invest more.

In this climate I could see Auba sale making c£70m. Or £30m + Jovic.

But then who would score goals to keep us competitive? Maybe even give us a chance for the Europa?

Totally agree with this tbh.

What 'noises' have the two of them made though?

Only the ones in the tabloids abt not liking Arteta's appointment. The one Auba is also lumped in.

To be fair if we can get 30,000,000+ for Iwobi who can tell what Auba would go for.

But clubs know he is not signing a new contract, has one contract left in him and is not happy, a lot of factors not in our favour

We got an offer of £60m for Alexis when he only had 6 months left on his contract. Strikers who actually score goals are the most vital players in football. Strikers are the only players who can justifiably command over the top salaries and play longer than usual as long as they are still scoring goals. Look at how Benzema is still the main striker for Madrid at 32 and how much C.Ronaldo went for at 33.

I hear you but it’s a reach comparing Auba to Ronaldinho or Sanchez ... two players who carried teams and did a lot more than score goals. I can’t believe what a c*** up the Sanchez fiasco was.

I guess I just don’t have a lot of confidence in Arsenal’s ability to get a good deal for star players.

Arsenal under Wenger without Dein was a disaster. We are yet to fully access how they perform under Edu and Sanllehi.

Realistically, we are going to have to sell a few anyway in order to fund our rebuild, and that is likely to mean we'll have to sell players we don't want to as they will probably command a greater fee.

If anybody doesn't want to be there, whoever they are or whatever we think of them, then good riddance whoever they are. If we can get a decent fee then even better.

But who are the players we don’t want to sell? In all honesty there are so few players in this team I feel any attachment to... basically support them because they wear the shirt but other than that they are not exciting, rarely do we see skill or fantastic shots, we do not even have a feisty one who causes trouble. Just bland and boring.

I’d keep Martinelli, the French kid with crazy hair, Leno.... honestly couldn’t really care about the rest.
