I honestly thought you guys were good. But it's probably the first match I've watched in three months

That’s good to hear! I guess the standards have been so high that it’s disappointing when the inevitable loss comes

I’ve just seen us do so much better recently - wasn’t expecting to beat City, but that was a very poor showing by our standards

I'm not qualified to comment given how little I've watched. That Maddison ooozes quality.

Good honesty from Rodgers in the post match

"In the first half we weren't good at all. It actually shows how well we've done to be where we are. Against that level of opponent it was a good lesson for us. No complaints about the result from me.

"We were a little more like ourselves in the second half but it showed there's a long way to go for this group of young players. When we did have the ball we showed we could hurt them. Like the goal, Jamie was outstanding all evening, it was a great pass by Harvey. But it shows there's a long way to go so tonight we have to keep that humility.“

Vardy's finish, to lift the ball over the keeper at that speed and angle. To go 1 up away from home at City.
Just remember Barca and Real would be happy if they could do that.

I’m starting to feel better Admin! You could do post match therapy sessions.....

Listening to BR just now I’m pleased he didn’t show Man City too much respect. Sure, he was going to say they’re a world class act, but rightly stated that our players didn’t get close enough to their opponents and that the first-half performance was poor. It wasn’t good for the rest of the game either. Defenders pulled apart and run ragged as we saw.

I wasn’t particularly pleased that he announced that it was a lesson for our younger players. Well, it was, but does that indicate they’ve reached their peak at this level? It’s given him a bit of a headache that’s for sure. No energy and they didn’t create much either.

Thought Vardy was outstanding with what he could do. Kasper solid, same with Evans. I think our younger players got daunted by the opposition quality and the stadium, and they’re going to need a rocket before Liverpool to get them to go out there and be positive.

Yeah I’m completely pleased with his post match reaction. Better than a couple of white flag waving Leicester fans on here basically making out we should be really happy it was only 3

downsouf - I think it was a lesson for our younger players, but I would take that as a positive, implying they can learn from it. We do have a very young midfield and they never found any semblance of control today.

I’m pretty concerned about the Liverpool game right now. That’s the kind of performance that could really knock some of the younger players confidence, I hope it doesn’t. And I also hope Fuchs plays

Depends whether they do indeed learn from what happened today. As I say, I think we need to get out there and get into them, instead of standing off and chasing shadows like today. We do at least have the opportunity to put things right, analyse a game that’s fresh in the memory and adjust to a similarly strong team who will play in a similar fashion.

...or we could stick out the reserves and keep everyone fresh for West Ham...?

Dunge-Perhaps we should be satisfied with a 3rd or 4th place spot and CL as was pointed out just now in the Sky studio. That would be a bitter pill to swallow having got this far in chasing after the league leaders. It’s as though today we were still in hot pursuit at the start of play and Man City have grabbed our coat tails. Energy levels were poor and we need to up our game for the big one coming up. Perez should have been hooked earlier I think.

Personally speaking, I wouldn’t consider 3rd a bitter pill to swallow at all. I think it’d be a great achievement. 4th would also be very good, albeit having lost the certainty of a CL spot that 3rd gives (it’s unlikely but possible). 5th would be a disappointment now, and that really shows how far we’ve come this season.

CL spot, cup final and golden boot for Vardy would be a great season. Cup win would be a magnificent one.

You've got teams at the bottom of the premier League signing Dutch internationals etc. Top 4 is a huge achievement.

Listen, it shows how far we’ve come that we’re disappointed about losing away to the champions!

But we are. And that just shows what an incredible job Rodgers is doing.

That said, I was disappointed in Rodgers today. Happy for him to go bold and go 4-1-4-1, but the second it was clear that we’d be annihilated playing like that he had to change it. Had to. Didn’t. His fault. All his fault.

Can’t criticise a player today. Wrong tactics meant our full backs had sterling and Mahrez taking a free run at them, and De Bruyne was given the freedom of the pitch.

Don’t want to say I told you so. But 4-1-4-1 is stupid against Liverpool and Man City where they can leverage width and play between the lines.

Today was a lesson in tactics. A big big lesson. I hope we learn.

Exactly. At the start of the season, my aim was top 6 with an outside chance of top 4. Now we have a great chance of top 4. But we do have to make sure what we’re going through at the moment is a lull rather than anything more serious and lasting. Over to Brendan.

Mersey - I’m not sure what you’d play instead. For me the formation was right but the wingers didn’t help out their full backs enough. The diamond would have been smashed. 5-3-2 might work.

I hate city, don’t get me wrong, but they played you boys off the park today.

Not having a dig or calling you a one man team, but what is Leicester’s plan if Vardy get injured or his form tails off?

Genuine question. Take a red hot Vardy out, and I struggle to see your attackers (bar Maddison and Tielemans) as top 4 standard.

I was pondering this one earlier, and that is my greatest concern.

The plan is mostly for Iheanacho to come on and cheat.

Yeah it’s a very good point. Barnes is a promising talent but 3 years away from the finished article. Perez is absolutely hopeless if I’m honest - im not sure he was even good enough for Newcastle

I think we are 12 months and a couple of signings away from being a very impressive side. Right now we are full of potential and have overachieved. The Vardy question is one that has been there for a long time, how on earth do you replace him? You basically can’t
