A manager being sacked in one job doesn’t disqualify them from doing well in another. Pretty much all the top managers in the world have been sacked at one point or another. Pep the notable exception. It’s such a poor argument. We’ve literally seen examples of two managers at United, that were sacked in their previous job, come into the club and improve the team. We currently have a manager that was sacked by Cardiff making the team worse, however.

If i were to pick one player out the 25 to get rid of it would be Lingsrd. He is the biggest waste of space in there imo

He can’t play with Pogba. We need Lingard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Matic
Fernandes Pogba
Lingard

It's a diamond I think to get the best out of those players.

Pogba
Lingard Matic
Fernandes

Better having thought about it. Pogba from deep can pick out the excellent runs Sanchez (on his return) and Martial makes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now you’ve gone too far and ruined it Daffodil

I agree that judging Pochettino on his last few months at Spurs is pretty unjust.

.....

It has to be a concern that he couldn’t stop the rot.

Ironically most of the people arguing against Poch were the ones who backed LVG who was sacked like 4/5 times before he arrived at United 🤔

Er yes. I was doing it ironically

I’ve never rated Emre Can. He’s injury prone and cumbersome. Never stood out at any particular thing. He’s got one hell of an agent to get him moves to the clubs he’s been at. It’d be another poor signing by United. So I wouldn’t rule it out happening.

I don’t see how some of you guys can’t see that OGS is just a playstation manager and doesn’t really know what he’s doing.

In his defence he got completely facked over in the Summer with transfers and people who think he was genuinely happy with transfer window (having failed to sign a striker or CM which he clearly wanted) are clearly agenda driven. But even if he did sign those players would you really be doing any better?

I genuinely thought you would sack him last Summer when it became clear and obvious to everyone that United made a huge mistake giving him a permanent contract

Lingard really needs to be sold this summer. He’s a complete waste of a squad number nowadays.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This. Why the hell are people putting him in a United midfield?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I wasn't looking closely but I assumed they were doing it ironically.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It should never be done. It isn’t funny. I am never filled with any optimism when he is in our line up.

He is on a very steep learning curve and the wisdom of letting him undertake that journey at United remains to be seen. But performances in the bigger games suggest that there is something there and that he’s not just a “PlayStation manager”.

No it shouldn’t. But it also shouldn’t be used as ammunition to justify getting our current one sacked. Which was my point.

But you already know that.

This we can agree on.

It was a point raised to put into context why we are 5th, despite being so bad. You’ve continuously tried to play down the notion of hiring Pochettino because he got sacked by Spurs. You did the same thing with Mourinho prior to us appointing him as well. It was a shiiiiit argument then and it’s a shiiiiit argument now.

Emre Can probably doesn't have the quality, but I liked his attitude when he was at Liverpool.

We are in need of quality though so Can doesn't fit the bill.

Poch is obviously a world class manager regardless of how things ended at Spurs. Hopefully he finds another club before the United board comes to its senses.

So strange how Isco has never been snapped up by anyone. Maybe it’s behind the scenes stuff

What is strange about one of Europe’s elite clubs not wanting to sell one of their better players?

If he played every week I’d agree. But they keep him locked up on the bench and never really gets a run of games

posted on 3/1/20

Bats, I think he’d be stupid to take the job. He could rock up at Juve or PSG this summer and have a far better team, with far better support staff, to work with from the off.

Isco seems settled in Madrid. He’s had injuries and his form has dropped off a cliff from a few years ago.

Unfortunately I think the United job is made for Poch

You guys are in the early stages of a rebuilding process and Poch seems to perfect man to guide you through that period. And he would actually get backed at United unlike at Spurs

posted on 3/1/20

What’s the fun going to a Juve or PSG where you can win a domestic trouble and still be viewed as a failure for not winning in Europe. I don’t think Poch wants that sort of job, that’s why I deluded myself into thinking we might get him

Agreed. When we look at what Klopp has done at Liverpool we see a special manager who was just what they needed. They don’t grow on trees and Poch is one of those special managers. He’s available and Ole isn’t exactly in a bulletproof position. A ruthless club would just go get him now. But I think the thing saving Ole is the previous three sackings and the club just want to stop looking so clueless which is funny because missing out on Poch would be one of the most clueless things they could do.

I said the other day that Poch may well take over at City if Pep leaves this summer. He would do very well with their talented youth players and like you say, would be backed well

posted on 3/1/20

He’ll have similar problems at United just with a larger budget. I.e. Not getting targets and being able to move on unwanted players.

That was ultimately what led to things turning to shiiiiiit at Spurs. I’d be surprised if he’d want a similar situation at a club where it’d be far more damaging to his reputation as a manager.

Not true. I have stared my concerns about him not being able to fix what went wrong at Spurs and I have also stated my concerns that he was unable to get Spurs over the line and win something.

All my concerns about Jose were proved to be correct. Despite all the know it alls on here. You were probably one of them.
