Unlucky guys, thought you deserved at least a replay. Totally dominated us in the first half. Thought we edged second half, and we started to win the midfield battles a bit more, but you certainly gave us a proper game over the 90 minutes.

All the best for the rest of the season. Hope to see you back in the Prem. Been far too long without you guys

Tbh I'd rather lose than have to go to a replay. Now we have two guaranteed rest periods when other sides around us might be playing games.

Would have liked a win obviously, but a loss is probably better than a draw tbh.

For me, I did sort of feel the same temporarily. If we weren't going to win (and I didn't think we were going to after the first 20 minutes), in the moment, I thought I'd rather we lose than have a replay.

But then I realised we aren't going to get into the Champions League (via the league), and the Europa/FA Cup are our two best chances to get silverware this season.

Besides, the FA Cup has been kind to us the last 5/6 years, so would be nice to progress far in it.

Yeah obviously different situations. I don't want to focus on a cup that we realistically aren't going to win at the expense of promotion that is very much achievable.

Hopefully we play you next season and come away with more!

Proud of the lads - Arsenals quality came through in the second half but we had them worried - Promotion now!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah first half I was worried. We were lucky not at least down by 2.

We controlled the game second half and worked much harder.

We really need to up our game over 90 min.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think saying you controlled the game is a stretch. Realistically you didn't create all that much, should have had multiple yellow cards, and timewasted in the corners against a Championship side.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
We had the one or the other chance to score second half. We won the midfield second half. Last pass missed.

Cant remember you having a chance second half.

Leeds played well first half, but if you don't score you don't win.
Second half was more in our favour and we did score.

As for 'timewasting' in the corner - we were one up. What do you want us to do, go all out for a second and end up conceding? (well, yes you would've I guess )

I think if you're the big bad Arsenal side you should be going for it, not having your massive Greek fella falling on the floor and crying when he gets backed into.

I don't like it when Leeds do it, for the record. Same with all forms of timewasting. Spoils the game.

I thought we showed first half a real swagger and hunger and composure which was the most pleasing aspect tonight and bodes well for the rest of the season.
The Keeper looks good and Gotts definitely deserves more game time but oh yet again how we could do with a preditor in the box. For the love of God please please can we sign a proven goalscorer this month.

Leeds did have at least one good chance 2nd half, but it doesn't matter.
What matters is that the players played a good game. Went toe to toe with Arsenal in the cup, and that's good enough.
Promotion is all that matters And a performance like that, will surely do good for confidence

Got to say that Arsenal side is the weakest I have seen in years. If we had a Gayle ot a Mitro in the side,, we would be in the next round.

Evening all

We need a genuine striker

Gunners certainly stepped up their game 2nd half and we were rattled, mistakes crept in, 1st half we were very good indeed, but goals win games

Not really disappointed as we've given a good account of ourselves and can now focus on getting automatic promotion.

Cannot for the life of me understand how Klich gets for back-to-back contact, whilst Xhaka gets away with 4 baddish fouls ?

Anyway, well played lads , well played ( 2nd half) Arsenal .. onwards and , hopefully, upwards.

Arsenal is a mid-table PL team this season, and if that is the standard of mid table PL, if Leeds should go up, I think we will be ok

Hope that second half wasn't a sign of fatigue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah.. I think Arsenal at last understood that they weren't up against an average championship side, and stepped up their game

Tonight was the first time I've been able to see leeds in 0eraon since Tony yeboah gave leeds a 1-0 win at home over chelsea.

Leeds were excellent tonight. They totally dominated arsenal first half and were under a lot of pressure second half. I have no.idea how arsenal managed to play the full 90 with 11 men on the pitch, but this seems to be the case with a lot of referees this season. Q

We didnt win , even though it blatantly feels like we should.have. I have written time and time again on this board that bamford is not good enough upfront. Hes a great holding guy, but we need someone upfront with him. Had we had a ninja in the box, that would have been 4-1 win tonight, not a defeat.

Emirates, what a stadium. Though Arsenal, like Chelsea lack soul. Their fans had little chants or songs, credit to leeds fans for again showing why they are the best fans in the country.

Forget to mention earlier, thought Douglas looked very comfortable on the ball and better defensively. Would like to see him play more, as I think him on form would be an asset to us, and LB is probably our weakpoint.
