I think it is harsh to say Celtic are far worse given their success in Europe this season.

Celtic have had to make a lot of changes at the back and they don't always work out or settle right away. Lustig was at least reliable, Tierney went for £25m and Benkovic cost £10m+.

I am not sure Frimpong was signed to play right now but he has become a first team regular because of injury and because the boy that couldn't get a game for Stoke turned out to be surprisingly not that great.

Celtic are still favourites for the league IMO but I would be far less surprised now if we nicked it after seeing the last two OF games.

I do think Ranger have improved though but there is still plenty of room for us to get even better.

There's no argument whatsoever for suggesting we are far worse at all.

Rangers have dramatically improved and the gap between both OF teams and the rest of the league would be deemed as laughable were it not for the huge disparity in financial resources. As such it's understandable.

The concern for Celtic is that the gap is miniscule in points but appears to be getting significant in attitude and hunger and in Rangers favour.

On paper I would even go so far as to suggest that Rangers look more like the eventual league winners tis season and the two remaining fixtures between us could well be the deciding factor as neither side look like dropping points (no doubt they will) to anyone else on current form.

We cannot lose at Ibrox and must beat them in the final game as far as I'm concerned.

I slightly disagree with this. I think the rest of the teams in the league have been extremely poor this season and there's a real lack of quality in the division at the moment. Some of the defensive play - particularly in midfield - has been embarrassing. There should absolutely be a gap between the OF and the rest due to finances, but it should be less stark than it is.

I tell you who has improved this year though - referees.

Last season there was a major refereeing error every single weekend. Less so this season.

Haven't seen anything form Taylor to suggest he's any better than Boli

I think Celtic perhaps still have a couple of players that are of a higher quality in the squad but Rangers have a real determination and are playing as a cohesive unit.

I've not seen much of Celtic but on the evidence of the two games it looks like Celtic don't have enough balance in the team.

I don't think either team can be criticised for the consistency this season though cos from both teams it's quite phenominal.

Can't say Celtic have been worse the points tally tells you that and thats with having a few injury problems.

Rangers have only dropped 7 points this season I think?

You would not have thought at the start of the season that would leave a team second.

It feels similar to last year except we are in Celtic's position and this year it's them who have a tough run of fixtures to come.

I do think the momentum is slightly with rangers though and were Celtic to drop any points first month back then we will go on and win.

If not I think it's going to the wire

Can't see us continuing at the same rate but as long as there is not a significant drop off we should be challenging to the end

I know both sets of fans will say the league is the most important thing this season, and I agree.
With it being Celtic’s 9IAR campaign, that’s huge. Rangers will want to stop that of course and look like they have the team to challenge.

What I would ask is would you accept losing the championship for a Europa League win?

It’s a long time since either won silverware in Europe but not too long ago since either went to a final. Those campaigns were huge for booth’s fan base and created a lot of hype around either club.

So my question, if you could see your team lift the EL would you accept failing to win the league domestically?
You need to pick, and the League isn’t a guaranteed consolation prize in this scenario. Which do you want?

I would be surprised if there is any repeat of our slackness after the break from last season tbh.

Gerrard has shown consistent improvement in his time at Rangers. Progression to Europa league knockout stages, reaching a cup final and vastly improving our league form are all tangiable measures of this.

Last year the team still wasn't right at the half way mark - we still had guys like Coulibally, Worrall, Ejaria etc all featuring. FFS Halliday played at LB in the Old Firm match.

We have come a long way since then. Barisic, Davis, Aribo and Kamara have all become established members of the team and improved us.

I will actually be disappointed if we don't at least take the league all the way now. Celtic are there to be got at and we are no longer fearful of them.

One or two key additions in January might just give us that wee boost.

In a heartbeat.

Winning a European trophy will always trump the league regardless.

Ten in a row is only a stupid record against rangers. No one else cares but Europe is what matters most.
