Going to Chelsea in my mates dad's Capri.
Happy days.

2.8i? Now that was a car.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Black, 2.8i, dream car back then.
This was a 3 litre ghia, mustard yellow.
Absolute beast of a car. 😂
How fecking great was football late 70s early 80s.
Beyond United and Everton games, which were usually tickets only, you just strolled out the house with a couple of quid, and went and watched some of the greatest teams we ever had.
Walk back, down the Kim Wah broady, portion of chips, sorted. 🙂

Dead right. So follow up question: how much Did you pay for your first match? The first time I paid for myself was £1.80 at the boys entrance (ooh err) in the Kop. My first season ticket some years later was £75.
I was an 80s kid but would’ve been 5 for the last title so unfortunately, I don’t have any recollection. My earliest memories of Liverpool were the likes of Mark Walters, Dean Saunders, John Barnes etc. So about 91-92
But the famous 3-3 against United was the first time I can recall being emotionally invested in a football match.

Must have been about £1.50 when I first went without an adult.
Around that time, my mates dad had a building firm, so they had a few bob, so if there was a midweek game, European whatever, I would obviously just happen to be over in his house, just waiting for his dad to walk in the room, as he always did, sheepie on, and say, 'Right, are you coming then', and we would be off to the match.
I would be fecking ecstatic.
Arkles, bottle of Coke, he'd be off to the main stand, we'd go the Kop.
My first actual game, was in 1978.
Weirdly went with my cousins cousin, a girl who was about 17, and her mates.
Don't remember a great deal about it, beyond a forest player, who to me as a kid, like a little fat fella with his socks rolled down.
What a player John Robertson was by the way.
First one I remember was 1972/73
Yep. Old. Not obsolete.

I was born in 1970 so LFC have won the league 11 times since then but to be honest when I was a kid we just seemed to win every year. I remember the European cups much better. I have very vivid memories of the least few and never thought when we last won in 1990 when I was at University that I would spend my entire adult life waiting for the next time. Fingers crossed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Same.
The European games stood out more than the league wins for me too. Kenny's winner at Chelsea being the exception.

I have seen it and would be surprised if this site has a lot of <35 year olds tbh.
I would not however say it really registered with me as the fa cup "event" style finals were more grabbing of attention than the league at a young age.
I distinctly remember hearing Kenny resigned at school.

Looks like you’re right , seems there’s a few of us old timers!

I was 8 when we last won it and barley remember it, Italia 90 I remember as Ireland played in a World Cup for the first time, only really got interested in football after that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I very vaguely remember my older brothers' excitement about Italia '90. The benefits of having older brothers. I always knew the name Klinsmann because they couldn't stop saying that name. In fact, that's the only thing I remember about Italia '90. My bros talking about a Klinsmann thingy all the time.

I remember the shock when Shanks retired. There were tears in our school, I wont say who it was though....
Which game would you like to win the league?
Lots of red men fancy City away 4 April
Could well be that game as if we broadly maintain the gap then even a draw at city would prob mean we can’t be caught

Away at Goodison on March 14th
Have been around for 13, don't remember 63-64 as I was only 2. Remember my dad/uncles/older cousins going mental after the 65-66 win, still only 4 so hadn't yet been to my first match. That was 67 or 68.
1972-73 was the first one I remember as a match going fan aged 10.
I remember being in the crowd lining the streets for the 74 FA Cup winners parade and then my first experience of European football under the lights the 1976 league & UEFA Cup double winning season.
That league campaign was one of the most exciting/nerve wracking times to be a Liverpool fan. With 4 or so games left we were second to QPR on goal difference. We drew the next game & QPR won, giving them a 1 point lead.
We won our next game with QPR losing meaning we were 1 point ahead with 2 games to. We both won those games and the rest is history. I was at Anfield that day & the stadium erupted, I had never heard a noise like it.
First one for me... born in '92
1982 the first one I remember. Beat Spurs 3-1 to win it. Sandy remembers it well, he was celebrating his 80th that day.
