Williams and AWB should be Uniteds full backs for the foreseeable future

Williams. Shaw for backs against the wall games, as he’s better defensively..

So Shaw then?

Please be Shaw

Williams.

No chance I would bring a rusty, unfit (was he ever fully fit?) Shaw back against Salah or Mane.

Also, yes we'll be backs against the walls for large periods of the game, but TAA does like to leave some space for opposing fullbacks to attack at times, and I'd like us to have some chance of creating something without relying completely on Martial from that side (Rashford probably out). Shaw doesn't understand the meaning of an overlap.

Not having a pop but do you not think it may well be backs against the walls on Sunday for united, as in let us have the ball and try funnell it through the middle to stop the fullbacks being so influential?

Then use your pace to hit us on the reak and look to take advantage of our high line?

With Williams being right footed it would make more sense up against Salah.

Possibly. We will try and get you on the break but without Rashford that might be tricky. Having a fullback who’s good going forward could help. Tough one, I think shaw might cope better against your attack, but only if fully fit..

I'm not sure. I can see the benefit in playing Williams in the hope he can force TAA back a bit but, if as I suspect we'll be playing with our backs to the wall for a lot of the game, Shaw would make more sense. I'd also not want Williams to be part of a chastening defeat either. What could happen of course is Klopp being a bit more circumspect as well as he'll know we'll want to hit on the break and he'll also know if he keeps it tight our defence will spill a chance or two. It may be cagier than we think.

It's a tough call. Just hope we get it right.

Going by Ole's quotes it seems Rashford won't be playing on Sunday. Although he could be lying!

In that case I'd play Williams with James ahead on the left with both tasked to work hard on the flank to stop TAA. I'd also probably, in that case start with Dalot (if fully fit) at RW.

Whoever is full back will have enough on their plate with Salah and it will be the midfield will have to watch Trent.

Trent won't do anything, always cack against us.

Williams for me thanks. Shaw has sadly proved me right in being the Second Coming of Wayne Bridge

Really don’t know why Ole risked Rashford - he knew he was injured when he brought him on - very strange

Can we just keep Young for 1 more game like Sporting are doing with Bruno? Does well against Salah, plus he could take one for the team if needed and get a red, then be sold.

Young against Salah in 2018 was amazing

I think tactically I'd lean towards Shaw. But I think Williams is the man for the occasion. Need someone with guts and fight who'd rather die than lose this game. That's Williams in a nutshell.
Could backfire and get him a red, but I think you have to take the chance

OGS hasn't got the best poker face has he.
I fully expect Rashford to start Sunday.

Ole will play Borthwick-Jackson to outfox everyone.
