Johnny Greenwood is a facking genius. He is so talented.
He does a lot of soundtracks. There will be Blood is one.

Curveball here but I’d make a case for Radiohead: I think they’re actually better than the plaudits say they are.

I'm a big fan of Radiohead, but they're not "underrated" at all. They're probably the most critically acclaimed band of the last 3 decades in the UK and the world. If anything, their detractors find them annoyingly overrated.

You could make a case for Coldplay as an "underrated" band. They're one of the most commercially successful bands of the last 3 decades, but I've hardly met anyone who admits liking them. Almost like it's uncool to like them. Rush of Blood to the Head was a pretty great album.

Loved Rush of Blood (and Parachutes was decent) but they went downhill thereafter. But they are one of those bands that people judge by their worst efforts and not their best.

Rush of Blood... was a fantastic album.

She drew the gun are great! Very political.

For eclectic sound. Field Music are very good.

Radiohead are brilliant. My favourite song is probably Let Down. The last verse and ending are spine tingling

They are overrated. They have a few good songs, the rest is seriously depressing crap that makes me want to commit suicide. Silver linings and all that you would say....

I got into Radiohead in my teens about a decade ago, and I must have had like a dozen favorite songs from them since. My first favorite was "Street Spirit" with that driving arpeggio and the evocative lyrics (even by their standards, that might be the most darkest sheite Thom has written). Then at different times, songs like 2+2=5, or How to Disappear Completely, or Paranoid Android etc. I remember the first time I heard "Idioteque" and was like "what da fack is that nonsense?!" and I used to skip the track. One day I just let it play and it somehow wormed its way into my brain and it became my favorite Radiohead song for months and I'd just play it on repeat.

I know they’ve highly acclaimed - that’s why it’s a curveball. My point is that I actually think the sheer genius of their best work deserves a higher status even than they’ve already got. That’s my opinion, and just because others think they’re too highly rated doesn’t change it; I just profoundly disagree with those people,

They're not that commercially successful but they're a band a lot of people know and like.
