Interesting that it came out the day after they draw Rangers in the Cup.
No doubt there's some kind of masonic conspiracy involved. No smoke without fire.
na not for me they have too much info and friends in the game that can influence the betting.
Having had my own issues with gambling, I believe that something has to be done about it.
It's become a scourge on society and advertising for it should be heavily regulated as it is for alcohol etc.
I'm glad that the UK government are finally waking up to the issue by having credit card usage for online gambling.. that's what got me into financial trouble. Too easy when already have a problem with it, to then have a few cans of beer and gamble away hundreds of pounds at a time.
It's not even about the money when it's an addiction, it's just about beating the machine etc, and even then that rarely brings fulfillment.
Just watching Soccer Saturday you are bombarded literally every two seconds with gambling adds. Even the presenters are at it with that stupid BOOST advert. It will just take one high profile case for it all to be curtailed. Someone topping themselves or something.
If he has placed bets in any premier league games he should be punted
fair play to him and Hamilton for the way they've handled it
their SLO was on clyde1 last night talking about all the community initiatives they've got going on including GA/AA and NA
I've always liked a bet never been addicted by I've stopped betting during the week and I think I've had about 2/3 bets on horses in the last 6/7 months
Not put one coupon on since November. Was sick of near wins and you end up chasing it because of how raging it gets you, Was easy about £60 a month with no return which isn't a lot but if you add it up over a year and couple it with how annoyed it gets you it's no worth it
I've not placed a bet in around 18 months now.
I'm still in our Celtic club swindle where we pay £5 a week and someone gets £70 a weekend to place a bet but i just don't take a shot, probably just as well as it's been doing well
The Sky Sports calculator thing that showed how much you staked was a massive wake up call for a lot of people.
Also good to see they're stopping credit cards being used in betting shops and online gaming.

Yeah pretty much where i'm at with it, if it's Scottish prem games then he should be removed from his position.
Whether that be an SFA hearing or Hamilton not knowing the full picture.
They're obviously doing all they can to help him which is good to see though.

another great thing that happened for betting on the SkyBet app no sure if they do it on others is the profit/loss feature

I was the same yesterday mate!
I think black, Simonson and another rangers player I can't remember were all hammered for it. Which is very dodgy as pointed out above when Scottish football is heavily sponsored by betting companies.
Rice needs help but equally I'm not sure how he can do his job if he has been betting on Scottish football. Could be the horses or the machines though.
Good luck to him and I hope he beats it

This is really useful for me cos I can see how much I am down by and gives me the motivation to try and win it back, otherwise I would just give up and stop.

Aye if it's just horses or other Scottish games then he may be ok.
Any betting on games in the Scottish Prem and he can't continue in his job.
it's rife
think of how dodgy the development games must be for betting on,
100% most of the scottish players in the Premiership are betting on games
good to see Rice going against the grain and admitting to it
I'm not a gambler and never have been. I like cards nights where I accept that if I go with £20 and lose it then so be it but I've had a good night. I rarely bet anything over £2 and get annoyed when my 16000/1 20 game acca doesn't come in.
However, gambling is all around us and if you have that addictive nature towards it then you can't get away from it, probably like smoking in the 80's where adverts and whatnot were everywhere.
William Hill Scottish Cup
Ladbrokes Premiership
32 Red - Rangers sponsor
Dafabet - Celtic sponsor
Other betting firms in adverts and shirt sponsor
888
bet365
All with adverts and boosts showing "dead certs"
It's a jungle out there for gamblers trying to quit

it's the same for people trying to give up the swally
He'll not get a patna back for it.
I'm not for this guy losing his job even if he has bet on premier league games or anything else for that matter.
Addiction is an illness. He's seeking help and yes, maybe he's been forced into it but nonetheless he is still doing it and very much in the public eye. For that there is some commendation to be had.
His illness needs treating and hopefully curing. Taking his means of an income which could result in the loss of his house and family due to even further stress is hardly going to help that is it?
And this punishment lark is meant to help who exactly? Some holier than thou rseholes who sit in the blazered halls of power who are quite happy to take all the sponsorship they can get from these ludicrously rich companies whose own CEO's earn multi millions?
Fwck that. Hypocrisy of the worst order.
