Premier League Player Of The Season

I'd love him to get it anyway but I'm biased.

His interview on the pitch on Sunday is the reason why, he's got steam coming off him after running himself into the ground, he's calm and composed and while the fans are singing we're going to win the league he just keeps the one game at a time mantra.

Of course not exclusive to him, plenty in the past, who were also better footballers have done the same, but if we do win the title by a distance I think he deserves it.

Again I'm biased though

But he's not a great player and Klopp could easily replace him

Utter nonsense.

Great debating skills from Robbing to add to Robb's.

There is no point in debating with people who genuienly don't know a lot about football imo and that's my prerogative.

Go debate the excentricity of the word "control" in relation to fouls or sommat if you like.

To say Henderson would be easily replaced in this Liverpool squad is laugable.

Like there's more to football than just being the best actual player.

Possibly, even at £75m he looks a steal

Ah yes, the old 'don't know a lot about football line'.

I'm shocked that you brought that out.

Come back when you've matured to a point where you can actually discuss a topic without the start point being 'I'm right and you're wrong'.

Henderson vs Bayern last year was ridiculous when he got motd and is a great example.

None of our other midfielders have his passing ability in terms of range and one touch passing either.

No Liverpool player. There have been no stand out individuals. Remember Salah won it in the year that Man City won the league by a million points? That was based on the same reasoning so no way should a Liverpool player win it this year.

I don't want to discuss the topic with you, I just wrote that there above and the reason for that is that I don't think you understand the game. At all. You're obviously keen though so sorry about that.

Winston he really couldn't be easily replaced, klopp often refers to the play book, as in the tactics, its why his default in big games was Hendo gini and milner for a long time, they knew the play book the best.

Henderson knows his role in whatever position in the midfield klopp plays him, he does so much in terms of organising players, getting on top of players to make sure they don't make the same mistake again, he's got an excellent passing range and is a real leader.

Not saying there aren't better players but you couldn't buy someone and expect them to be what henderson does for us without at least a year and likely more.

Then don't reply.

Doing what you've done just makes you look like a child and also leads to petty arguments that derail a thread.

I personally think you've probably done your first coaching badge and it's given you a heightened feeling of superiority.

Whatever it is - you're really bad at trying to understand other people's opinions on most subjects and even worse at just resisting the urge to post something of no value.

Grow up soft lad.

His stats and performance against Shef Utd were insane.

Exactly. Which is why Strinstons comment ‘he’s not a great player and can easily be replaced’ is just begging for bites and really doesn’t tell the story regarding how important Henderson is

I respectfully disagree.

You made a good point about leadership and to be fair, that usually takes a player time to exert influence over, so I take that point and on that specifically, he would be difficult to replace.

But as player, with the skillset he has, I don't believe Klopp would have any issues in replacing him during the summer, if he needed to.

I don't think there's any part of his game that is particularly advanced. I think he's a good all rounded being used very well by his manager, and I think if you dropped him in United's team, he'd look average.

Henderson is shiiite. Very limited footballer who gets shown up for England as basically Lee Cattermole without the fight.

To be fair, I am with Winston here. I think that if Henderson was out for 6 months, Wij or Milner can come in and offer a lot of what Henderson does, granted not with the exact same skillset but certainly without impacting our tactics, how we play, and maybe not our results too much. You do that for a few other players in our team, like our full backs and VvD and it's another story.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not a slight against Henderson - he's done a fantastic job of making himself a key member of the team.

But ultimately what he does is, in my view, something that can be more easily found in other people. As you say, his skillset... arguably more easily found, particularly in English football.

VVD, Salah etc. bring something to the team that I believe only a handful of players in the world can do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Our midfield has a number of combinations that can and have got results against all teams. It is the one part of the team that can function in the same way with injuries.
Henderson has gone up a level since he has moved out of the holding role. People seeing that he does have more to his game than running a lot. Some of his passing this season has been outstanding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His passing has always been outstanding, for me but this season his off the ball stuff has went up a level. The kind of stuff that goes unnoticed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

His passing has always been very good. I think a combination of being higher up the pitch and confidence has taken it to another level. We all know he could keep things ticking over with the odd raking 50 yard cross field pass, but he seems to be happier getting the ball and looking to make things happen rather than simply keeping it and doing the easy thing. I know that his role dictates that to a certain extent, but I have seen an improvement through willingness to try more things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Confidence is sky high at the moment and who can blame him. The team has been relentless for a season and a half now. The belief in this squad is through the roof.

Yeah I get what you're saying but I don't think he wasn't trying more, due to not willing to try but due to the role he was given. Since he moved further forward, it felt like he had a weight lifted off his shoulders and he was able to express himself more. Since moving back he has been even better which has surprised me. I think he's a real winner and he wanted to make sure that it didn't look like the position became weaker when he went into it. He's a warrior.

Think Winston is being given a bit of a hard time on this one to be fair. I'll ask the question, would we massively falter if Henderson got injured for the whole of next season, providing Fab and Wij stayed fit and we rotated Ox, Keita and Milner in that 3? I don't think we would. That doesn't take anything away from Henderson who has been outstanding for around 12 months now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We don't know, I think we would, I know we've not missed Fabinho though and that's because of Jordan.

This is probably true but says more about United than Henderson. Mane and Salah would probably be average for us too.
