Laporte is a great player, but the best he isn't. He I a big reason City are so far behind, but Pep is the biggest reason. Not recognising the rest of the central defence is awful is all on him.
Klopp has the best, plus two top others and Lovren who does well enough when we need him.
Fergie always had 3 or 4 that he could use. Pep messed up. Best manager in the world? Not for me. The best wouldn't make such a poor error.
I think you guys are meaning Joel Gomez. He is the Liverpool centre back isn't he. Not the Dutch one the other one. It is easy to get confused though so don't worry

Klopp isn't the better manager. He just has better players and is at an already established club. Typical for him to pick the easy option going to arguably one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world, who had already won 6 European Cups and countless EPLs, has a massive worldwide fanbase who sell out their ground every week and create an ideal atmosphere for success.
Pep went to a glorified League 1 team and won them back to back championships, with virtually no history, no fans, virtually no previous success and players like Fabien Delph.
If Klopp wants to prove himself, do it at a smaller club who isn't already one of the most successful in the history of club football. Then he might get some respect from us true football fans.

This best player thing is nonsense. None of City players if not one (Debruyne who didnt even feature last season) made the Top 10 of European team of the year yet City won 3 trophies and are almost certainly the Top 3 best side in Europe.
World class players matter but ultimately its down to the coach and how the team operates.
Secondly, are there still fans that really believe that managers scout and sign players Honestly we have children on this site to think that a manager actually scouts and goes to watch players This is not 1995, football clubs dont operate that way anymore.
A manager tells his superiors the positions in which he requires new players and the people appointed to do that come up with a shortlist and the manager is requested to input and then after that the club sign the player.
Managers DONT BUY players, they make recommendations. PEP did not sign Debruyne and Klopp did not sign Salah, they just provide input.
Their remit is to coach and manage the football team. These are not the Wenger, Fergie years.
