They have led for just 305 minutes in the top flight this campaign, the least amount of any side. In contrast, Liverpool have led for the most: 1,160 minutes.

Commentators and pundits loved this type of meaningless stuff. It implies some kind of weakness in quality, tactics, quality, whatever. But it's not, as in 100% of matches its the team leading at the final whistle that takes the points.

Unless the teams are drawing. In this scenario the points are shared. Ovs.

There's some interesting reading in this Match Thread.

I really enjoyed it the first time I read it on the BBC Sport web site.

I pinpointed this match back in December as the game I suspected we might lose.

Our busy December and then the Spurs / United match back to back might cause us to drop our guard (I say might - this Liverpool team is different and Klopp typically has us prepared for every game).

Be interesting to see who we start in midfield tonight.

He may be tempted to go with Fabinho, Henderson and Wij. If not, I suspect he'll start Fab on the bench and persist with Ox.

One of my brothers who lives in NZ has told me he is putting 10 dollars on Wolves to win. It will be his birthday when the match starts and he is positive they will win.

It's easy to forget that we went with arguably a weakened team at Anfield and a different formation. But that was driven by the Man City game played less than 48 hours previously. Jonny switched to the right, Vinagre played left WB. Dendoncker moved in to the middle and the two terriers, Neto and Jota up front.

Suspect that Doherty, Jimenez, Saiss & Traore will start this time though its possible that we'll stick either Saiss or Dendoncker in to the midfield and go with two up front again.

Should be a fascinating game so long as VAR doesnt ruin it.

Completely missed the first fixture but sounds like VAR mugged us big time. Should it have finished a draw then?

If by mugged off you mean correct incorrect decisions then yes, VAR mugged you off.

Failed to review whether Van Dijk handballed in the build up to Liverpool's goal. Ruled out Neto's goal because Jonny's little toe was offside in a frame by a couple off millimetres (which is the level of analysis IFAB have said the system shouldn't be used for as it isn't accurate enough and you cannot tell the exact point the ball was released).

Basically the same things that fans across the country have been moaning about all season, but Liverpool fans love because they are top and yet to be negatively impacted.

They didn't fail to review anything. They reviewed it and correctly concluded that VVD didnt create a goalscoring opportunity, he created the opportunity for Lallana to create a goalscoring opportunity, if indeed VVD handled the ball, I still haven't seen any replay which confirms this.

If you're offside you're offside, you can't complain you were mugged off when the laws were followed, on both occasions.

They didn't review it. They specifically said they didn't review it. They only reviewed Lallana. They reviewed Van Dijk's handball at half time, by which point it is too late and they would never reverse the decision. We were definitely mugged off on that occasion.

Whether he was offside is actually inconclusive. The technology can not analyse to the accuracy that they are trying to. Hence why the picture is blurred when they are trying to review, as they are having to merge frames. You are basically hoping you get lucky with the frame they pause it at. I would say that about any goal for any team that is analysed to that level.

Yeah these ridiculous toenail decisions need to stop, if it isn't clear it isn't offside

you shouldn't use the var card. just because the so called big teams have to try and find some excuse for their short comings. liverpool haven't benifited from any wrong calls this year only right ones.
wolves are a good team and should be able to give liverpool a good game.
then again if pool finish off their chances it could be 3-0 by halftime.

The one match ban rule applies if the OP takes exception to a comment and deletes it. The person that wrote the offending post will then be unable to post on that thread again.

Ah brilliant many thanks. I did click on the link Umtiti all but it just looked the same as the standard article but with a different ‘you comments’ box.

It’s going to be a hoot watching Wolves inflict a first league defeat of the season on Liverpool. Congrats to Liverpool on their unbeaten run to this point, it’s been impressive
