OP

You need to come up with names of players that Spurs could buy this January, instead of just assuming players can be purchased like buying sweets in a sweetshop. Lots of clubs in the Prem need new players, Spurs are no different to all the other clubs, who are also struggling to bring in new players.

This is not fantasy football mate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Your hypocrisy is staggering.

Just two days ago you put in an article that says:

"Absolutely essential need to splash say £30 million on a striker"

Yet you offer no names. Followed up with "I would just sign a top class striker". Great insight. Still no names.

You write an entire article called 'Obviously need new players in' without naming a single one who you'd target.

So why can you do it, but this poster can't?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sandy is a hypocrite? Whaaaat?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not hypocritical. I didn`t name any players, because it will not be me buying them. It will be the club, so I don`t actually get a say.

The reason though I had a pop at the other poster, because they way he posted as if it was easy to just go and get whoever you wanted, and it clearly is not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's even less easy when you have a stingy bald chairman with a fear of spending.

We need to buy in this window.

If we don't, I'll seriously be reconsidering my ST for next season.

We could finish 4th with 2-3 much needed signings. We could also finish as low as 15th if we stand still and do nothing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm keeping my season ticket because of the exchange. Have been able to sell every game I haven't wanted to go to so far. If that wasn't an option I wouldn't renew.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hear ya, Feel the same way. I'll give the rest of this season a pass (spend the cash elsewhere) As much as I love Spurs.... I really don't like Levy, I think he's a total fraud and most of the time I feel totally fleeced. Feels like Levy has sold the soul of the club for some fancy stadium we look kinda ridiculous playing in given the quality of our football. Feel bad for Poch, don't blame Jose for anything..... It all starts and ends with Levy for me. Maybe I've become too Americanized over the years.... if you wanna charge top dollar, gimme a top dollar product... if not ... go fack yourself
----------------------------------------------------------------------
100% agree on the product. We pay the most expensive tickets in world football. In return we get minimal investment and now awful football.

If my season ticket cost £500 like West Ham then I wouldn't have much expectations but our fan base are being fleeced by ENIC.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally agree...... I really don't care about the stadium. It means nothing to me. WHL is our home and it was symbolic with everything i grew up loving about Spurs. I can live with the team losing as long as I'm entertained for 90 mins. To me there's nothing romantic or glorious about finishing 4th or rising in the Deloitte rankings (which is all that matters to ENIC)

Spurs are nothing more than a business and as such I will treat them as such going forward. They are totally exploiting the loyalty of their fan base
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is so true. Levy can have no complaints if the stadium is half empty next year charging what they do and with this standard of football. Absolutely no complaints at all. Perhaps the tourist trade can step in and fill the gaps for him
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs will have no problem selling out most games. Spurs have always had a very large fansbase, so if some drop out, others will just take their place.

If you think now is bad, you should have tried supporting some of the poor Spurs teams of the past. Supporting a football team is not just supporting a winning one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been going to spurs since 1984. I've seen plenty of crap football..... You're missing the point as per usual. There is no Loyalty in football. The club and the players don't appreciate you & don't give a shlt whether you are there or not. They want corporate boxes filled, foreign tourists and the highest revenue per seat and they will be more than happy to sell them politically correct song sheets to all those who don't know the words (20 quid a pop I suspect). Football has moved on mate..... sadly its nothing like it used to be because people like Levy don't want it to be, the profit margin needs to be bigger & that's the priority. Its all driven by TV contracts, commercial agreements, sponsorship & urban development. Winning football games is a long way down the list of priorities.

You love to harp on about the past..... What do you think Billy Nic would make of what spurs have become ???? He'd see through the bullshlt in 2 seconds

A max of £500 in the South stand for the next 3 years would have been a nice gesture from the 8th richest football club in world football but no must bleed every pound out of supporters. Its so dull
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Like everything mate, if they fill the stadium, why would they lower the prices? And the Stadium has been filled every game since it opened, give or take a few season ticket holders that did not turn up. Absolutely no need for them to lower prices, why would they, when they sell out every game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bayern Munich can fill their stadium twice over so why dont they charge a 1000 euros to their most loyal supporters then? Answers on a postcard

----------------------------------------------------------------------

No way mate. This is the worst defence of an argument ever. You do exactly the same as what you're digging him out for. You say his problem is that he's making it seem like it's easy to just go out and get whoever you wanted, but you literally say that spurs should 'sign a top class striker'... like that's easy to do!

And that he's making it sound like buying players is as easy as buying sweets from a sweet shop. These are exact quotes from you in one article:

"I am more than willing to give him at least two years, so that he can overhaul the whole squad."

"Get as much as possible for the current squad, and rebuild a completely new one."

"It is clear the whole of the defence needs changing... Need younger more mobile defenders"

"The money Spurs could get for him, could be spent wisely on three or four really good players"

So tell me again how what you say is any different from what you've had a go at the OP for?

Mate, I know it sounds like I'm having a go, I don't mean to keep posting about you - I only come on this site for entertainment and a chat - but you must admit that you change your mind almost every day, say some really debatable things and then refuse to hear other people's logic!

I love talking about history agreed, but I also move with the times. Simple of you want to moan all the time and don`t want to go, then don`t go. Nobody is forcing you to go. You spend enough time on this board to suggest that you really do love the club, so I suspect you will continue to go.

Why don`t you give up your season ticket if you don`t want to go. Plenty are on the waiting list. Bit selfish keeping it, if you don`t go to games. Your call though I suppose.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would I if I can sell the games I don't want to? I have seats with my friends.

I went to every game until Jose came in. I don't think he will be here this time next year so am happy to renew and start going more regularly again when he's gone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm in the same boat tbf.

Last year I went to every game. I haven't been able to go as much this year with finances and the absolute ballache it has become to get into London.

I'm in the south stand and have sold every ticket I couldn't attend. Even Norwich midweek it went in seconds.

I could easily not go to a single game and get my money recouped for my ST.

Jan signings rarely have an instant impact.

Everybody is attainable if you are prepared to pay enough, unfortunately the thought of paying over the odds for a player makes Levy`s teeth itch.
