With Mane injured you might want to keep hold of Salah.

Nah, they can just replace while they’re at it, with Messi

Can you improve on being lucky? Yes. You could one day be good instead of lucky

Plus without Stoke in the league he’ll never truly prove himself

He can be very extremely selfish at times which is frustrating. He had one of those nights last night.

His single mindedness to score goals is his biggest asset, yet conversely its also a big weakness.

Mbappe will do, Nike are sorting it out and covering a large part of the cost as well.

He was infuriating last night at times. He could have set up Mini for his first goal at one point but decided to shoot through 2 players instead. And then the one time he gives a 5yd pass instead of shooting? Bobby scores from Hendo's pass.

Though I can understand in a way why he doesn't pass more often. His passing is largely shocking!

We can do better than our top scorer from last 2 seasons in PL and the current joint top scorer?

Who may that be?

posted on 24/1/20

Was gutted when he didn't play Mina in. He did it quite a few times, failing to pass when its on. Think he could have set Ox up too.

He gets in great positions and sometimes doesn't shoot when he should. Not many players can do what he does and the ball seems to bounce lucky when he's around, bit its not luck.

What a game that was last night

Salah is the greediest player I can remember since Robben in his prime

his replacement was playing against you

Traore? Can't see it myself but you never know.

but Jimenez is different gravy

He's always been a greedy bastirt, only his strike rate has declined so now people are getting frustrated.

I understand this argument but I also credit his tally to Klopp and our system as well his own qualities.

He's the one player at present who isn't playing for the team - and that goes totally against our mantra.

I'm not quite sure what the hell has happened to him this year but it's as though he has forgotten how to kick a football. Even the United goal wasn't the cleanest of strikes - yet it somehow went under De Gea.

I don't want to have a go at the lad because his contribution has been immense but there's a side to his game that he needs to address.

I’ve got absolutely no issue with Mo’s play. If he wants to try and score, and he thinks thats the best option, fine by me. Wums aside - they can’t help it can they, poor things, envy is an awful emotion - to my fellow Reds he has been world class, and even if he doesn’t score another goal this season, again, fine by me.

For the opposition playing against him, he can be summed up in one word: nightmare.

Are you all mental?
Not playing for the team? We are so lucky to have a world class player who is constantly double/triple marked, wrestled and fouled by teams because they are terrified of him. Ok last night he was a bit selfish and should have passed it more than once but not playing for the team? The guy doesn’t stop running and works his ass off for the team. There was one point when wolves broke away and who was covering at right back? Yes Mo. (Before the Gomez block)
His decision making does need to improve at times but talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth!
If it wasn’t for his ‘selfish’ dribble which involved a ridiculous nut meg and drawing 4 players towards him creating space, then firmino wouldn’t have had the opportunity to score.
Not meaning to single anyone out but some of the general attitudes on here can be mystifying.

What attitudes? We're merely saying that his decision making form has dipped.

That's not a contentious point surely.

its true sometimes salah is selfish but thats what helps him a lot of the time.
i think he just trying to win the game not pad his stats.
last night there was one chance that he shot into a few sliding players when he cut into the middle that i thought he could have cut back to the outside again and slotted into the empty net.
he used to do that more often his first year.
have opposing players flopping on the deck like fish out of water. seems to be a bit more anxious to shoot.

posted on 24/1/20

Mont....I had exactlly the same thought when he did that. He used to cut back leave defender's on the floor and slot the ball home....seems to have lost that this season

posted on 24/1/20

nah.

this salah is too selfish stuff is rot.

he's no different from the player that helped us get 97 points and a CL title.

22-1-0

what do people want!!!

posted on 24/1/20

Wouldn’t swap him for anyone . Fine line between selfish and genius . He will get that wrong occasionally. Am sure Klopp will remind him of this

posted on 24/1/20

He hasn't lost it, opponents are just more aware now IMO. As someone said he did those a lot in his first season.

To be fair I think it was more the comments like ‘salah out, Mbappe in’(OP) and ‘salah isn’t working for the team’ and ‘he has forgotten how to kick a football’ when he is clearly contributing so much to this excellent run of form.
