Happy birthday

Hopefully he opens a new defence, a defensive midfielder and striker this morning

Happy birthday, Jose....And here's your P45 and £20 million handshake

Sandy, unless we sign a striker, another quality DM, and a right back , trust me, we'll win JACK!

Did you see the game yesterday? The Saints were there for the taking and yet we just scrambled over the line. Yet again a silly mistake cost us. Aurier yet again.

None of the players is bright enough to take the ball and kick out, enabling the substitution. That's the diff between top 3 and the rest. Our players are struggling so badly on the pitch, they can't see the bigger picture in a game.
Players look exhausted. Look at Son for example. His goal is very fortunate. That shot just about had enough power to get over the line.

Only Lo Celso and Lloris looked bright. Alderweireld looked scared whenever Ings run after him, probably still recovering from that schooling Ings gave gi in the league. Tanganga was solid but nothing else.Tried to move forward but whenever he did, he was blocked so ran back quickly after losing the ball.

Dele was bright in bits. Tried to take the game by the scruff. Again, he was visibly angry when subbed. But I think more at conceding the goal.

Jose tried to encourage the side by clapping etc Poch used to make a gesture to tell players to lift their heads up and believe. That's what players like imo.

Conte is another one who claps to try to lift the players. It's an old fashion thing for me.

Two months in, and Jose hasn't got the intensity of the side up yet and yet someone lie Nigel Pearson is getting more intensity from his players.

That's the annoying bit. These players are still way below where their intensity should be?

I've watched some training session and most of it, is based on technical aspects. I understand he doesn't want to overload the players with intense running with the ball etc, because 1) he doesn't want to alienate them against him 2) he is aware of a gruelling pre-season Poch demands from them.

But clearly, some players look tired.

I think Levy should be on borrowed time. This transfer window yields no further signing, then he must resign.

End of.

Poch warned the club that we needed quality players in urgently in summer, and yet Levy failed with that.

If he does fail again, can we let him fail twice?

"perfectly placed"?
Wolves ,Sheffield and Southampton all screaming down our necks within 3 pts, and then 5 teams, including the dreaded Arsenholes within 4 pts.
And if we look upwards we're 6 pts from 4th.
We're on a Facking knife edge...... lose a game and we could be 14th.
THAT is NOT "perfectly placed". Its buggering awful.

I am fine with the team, needs a few tweaks, but in general I am so much happier than I was three months back. Jose has found a way to grind out away results, if not actually winning, not losing. Since he has been at the club Spurs have avoided losing at West Ham, Wolves, Norwich, Watford, Middlesborough and yesterday at Southampton. Pretty impressive really.

Levy is demonstrated the diff between a footballing man and a business man

Klopp identifies someone and Liverpool go and pay the money and get him.

Jose identifies someone, and Levy goes and haggles, and doesn't pay the asking price and drags the whole thing until we lose the player or the window shuts (Dybala).

Timo Werner is being targeted now. The asking price is £60m. This is steep. But this is January window and prices will be inflated?
Go and pay and solve that striker problem for the manager?
No brainer? But Levy is a business man and negotiating is in his character so it won't be us going in straight.
Levy is defintely the blocker here. He is causing all the issues.
Poch would have been still at the club and we would have been in the top 3, not just top 4, if we got the players identified without dragging the whole process for weeks and months.

6 days to see what that tight git does.

The crops have failed hysteria from some on here is hilarious.

Yesterday we played a team who have won 6 of their last 8 games and who have beaten us at St Marys the last 2 times we've been there. We came away with a draw (which most of us would have taken before ko) and having been at the game I can tell you that although it was a shame not to hang on for the win the general feeling among the massed ranks of superb away support was positive.

People need to get a grip.

get a grip?

Only few weeks ago this team was in CL finals, and now we are attributing a draw against Southampton, as an achievement?
Wtf is wrong with some people and their memories?

Get real! With the squad that we have, it should have been a win yesterday

We wasted few chances and let them in through two school boy errors, and you think that's ok to live with?

I am not attributing the issues to Jose. Far from it.

My only gripe with Jose is that when he came in, we were looking for him to exert his influence on the baldy and making him get with him on players needed to freshen up this side.

Yet, that hasn't happened. Jose is doing what cost Poch his job. Towing to Levy line.

Levy would lose I think. Jose seems to have strong bunch of legal experts in the matter of resigning and getting settlements

Jose is probably thinking about when to leave, not if right now.

He's under estimated the issues at the club and now, wants to pull the parachute and jump off the plane

What Jose doesn't know is that tight Levy bought very small parachutes for the club

I have said I would be happy to win either the FA Cup, CL or both. So not worried about the league now. 6th will get Spurs back into the Europa League next season. Winning the CL will get Spurs back into the CL.

how the mighty have fallen

FA cup is worthless these days, most sides play the kids because of this You know you have a fractured mid season break because of this tin pot trophy

Didn't you do an article yesterday on Jose and his ability to navigate the domestic cup

One of your poorer thought out wums me thinks

Just as much chance of winning the CL or FA Cup as we did with Poch in my opinion. Not getting top 4, although unlucky with the Kane injury, is still failure on Mourinho's part.

Hopefully the only birthday he will celebrate at spurs

Mourinho absolutely over estimated the quality of our squad before he arrived, but will now know what is needed to be done.

The problem is Levy will absolutely not be on the same page, guaranteed.
