I disagree. There isn't anything wrong with having the option that a Lukaku type player gives you. But that is all he should be for us - an option. And you can't have a player as valuable as Lukaku and who is on such high wages being that option. That is why I think Mitrovic would be a decent signing. He'd be more likely to be happy being a squad player.

Definitely. It’s all well and good wanting to play pacey, counter attacking football but 70/80% of the teams we play won’t let us play that way. A Giroud or a Mitrovic would be immensely important against teams who pack the defence.

city have Jesus and aguero and liverpool Firminho and origi... they are the only real central strikers at their clubs.

He has a great assist record and I’ve seen him put in some Beckham-esque crosses
Do people worry about Shaw getting injured and putting all the burden on Williams?
I get the point, and we should look to improve our striking options... But there is more to football than just thinking we can go sign a player, assuming we can get rid in a few months. Football simply doesn't work like that.
We still need another forward, whether Martial gets injured or not.
James, Martial, Mata, Greenwood as the only options for the front 3 while Rashford is out? Not very good at all.

No way we should be matching that. I am sure he would rather stay in London anyway. That is a great move for him if he gets it.
As we are in the dying days of this transfer market... the options are pretty obvious.
1) If a striker that ticks all our boxes are available and can be signed... Do it. (Highly unlikely).
2) If a striker is available on a short term loan and ticks enough boxes.. Do it. (Unlikely).
3) Wait for the summer. (Likely).

signing a giroud isnt going to all of a sudden inject a shat load of goals into the team, others have to step up and get their fair share.

But sometimes a key goal here and a key goal there is the difference between CL football and not. It could be that difference that saves Ole’s job

It would be the most ridiculous thing ever to get rid of Lukaku and eventually go on to replace him with Giroud.
Yes, we need more forwards... But if the manager has made a decision to try and play more counter attacking, fast paced football... Then try and see it through.

I disagree. There isn't anything wrong with having the option that a Lukaku type player gives you. But that is all he should be for us - an option. And you can't have a player as valuable as Lukaku and who is on such high wages being that option. That is why I think Mitrovic would be a decent signing. He'd be more likely to be happy being a squad player.

Definitely. It’s all well and good wanting to play pacey, counter attacking football but 70/80% of the teams we play won’t let us play that way. A Giroud or a Mitrovic would be immensely important against teams who pack the defence.

I don't think that they would be as important as a technical AM (hopefully Fernandes), but it would give us another option.

city have Jesus and aguero and liverpool Firminho and origi... they are the only real central strikers at their clubs.

Do people worry about Shaw getting injured and putting all the burden on Williams?
I get the point, and we should look to improve our striking options... But there is more to football than just thinking we can go sign a player, assuming we can get rid in a few months. Football simply doesn't work like that.

As we are in the dying days of this transfer market... the options are pretty obvious.
1) If a striker that ticks all our boxes are available and can be signed... Do it. (Highly unlikely).
2) If a striker is available on a short term loan and ticks enough boxes.. Do it. (Unlikely).
3) Wait for the summer. (Likely).

signing a giroud isnt going to all of a sudden inject a shat load of goals into the team, others have to step up and get their fair share.
