Very similar to the mid 90s.
Workmanlike midfield and hoping the striker saves you.

The club hierarchy should be starting to reflect on what's been an absolute disaster of a season and if these owners have anything about them which I know is debatable heads should be rolling come the end of the season. The decision to keep Emery on for so long given how the season finished was a massive mistake and even when they sacked him they didnt have a plan in place they just hoped Ljungberg would be able to get something out of them until the end of the season.

In terms of investment Arteta should be given whatever he needs to fix this. These owners have messed up we all remember the be excited comment. The bottom line is under this ownership the club is going one way that's down. That's not to say there isn't any light at the end of the tunnel we've got some good youngsters getting valuable minutes in the first team and if they can be put with a few good signings in the summer there is some hope going forward.

I agree, Emery's head should have rolled in the summer after messing up a top 4 finish that was well within our grasp. But we can't change that now, so as you said Arteta needs full backing from the board in the summer to go all in and get the signings he needs to push on.

On the plus side at least we have been harder to beat under Arteta, under Emery we probably would have lost todays game.

This isn’t just on KSE though, Raul should take a large part of the blame too. Totally messed up the timing of Emery’s sacking - widely reported he actually wanted to extend the guy’s contract ffs.

The ‘contacts’ signing is also something I’m neither convinced by, nor comfortable with.

Will he be feeling the heat though this summer?

Highly doubtful.

I said when Emery took over that it was the weakest squad assembled in the last 20 years and that squad has become weaker.

As DJ said, this is all very late era George Graham.

Xhaka, Torreira... Hillier, Jensen.

Defence was obviously way better under GG, and we had Limpar and Wright up front.

Actually, scrub that then. We’re currently even worse than then. Probably need to go back to the mid-80s to find a less inspiring collection of first team regulars.

If it weren’t for the kids, and the hope that comes with watching them...

It’s the worst Arsenal team I’ve seen in my life time. And every season I say it...things can only get worse

Spot on. Emery' sacking came far too late. Season was already gone.

Get rid of Xhaka He has been outstanding!
I think Mustafi has had enough chances but like Xhaka seems to want to prove some people wrong. Just doubt if I will ever trust him.

We need a winger, another central midfielder, a center back and we will be okay.

Bellerin has been looking decent lately and with a DM behind him I would rather have Xhaka in this form than experiment with bringing in a new player.

Actually 2 center backs, A defensive midfield and a world class winger and I think we will be good to gore.

For instance if we sign Ndidi, A new CB, get William Saliba in, and maybe Zaha then we are good to gore. A creative midfielder would be nice too but there arent many who would make a huge difference.

We need to get our fullbacks fit, get someone like Zaha and we will be okay.

In terms of cover we have plenty in CB and midfield and even up front. I personally wouldnt sell anyone except Ozil.

Workmanlike implies some level of industry. That's not an adjective I'd use to describe our midfield.

Frail. Disorganised. Basic. Uninspiring. Unskilled. Those are words I'd sooner use.
