On Augustin
I have to give you a long answer. Augustin is a player with a lot of impact, he has a lot of skills and resources, you can realise about that for how much he cost, how much he was sold, how much he was got for and the teams he has played for. But Kevin in the last eight months played three full matches so when one player in this period plays just three full matches the conclusion about his fitness levels are clear. If you see one team like Wigan for example they sold their two best players, one to Milan and then the no 10, why do you think that is happening and they are fighting for relegation - why is that? Because of the fair play and the financial impact so you know perfectly that Leeds cannot buy a player even if they would like to buy a player so do do you think one player with the background of Augustin can arrive to our club if he is not in the situation where is now, because one player of his level with his background and skills and characteristics if he was playing he is a player who costs £30 or £40m. So if he arrived here without paying this money it is because he has to resolve one problem which is why he wasn't playing. Some players have skills and have resources but putting those resources and skills on to the pitch and on to an official match is not the same. All this is related to his fitness performance, it is very important. Also, Ryan Edmondson played 20 matches for the under 23s, what I saw was never enough to be considered for me. Even though we watch every match and try and help him to progress, in the last training he had, he had a great performance and in this one he had an injury. Si you have the development, the player grows and then you have the luck factor. And also you have loyalty or not in the engagement because Nketiah arrived here because Leeds was the ideal place to grow because it was me who was going to coach him but I don't believe these messages, Everything around the transfer of Eddie was lie, Eddie came to play, he played, he played and he left but even worse because he in two situations, I put Bamford on the bench and from the months he was with us, two months we wasn't able to play. Players do pre-season, when one player in six months plays three matches do you think he will arrive to one club and will play. That underestimates the club and the institution. Clarke, in the last match he played in the under 23s, I sent him a message congratulating him because after four months of work he was again the player hew was when he started. The next day he left Leeds. Baker, we were six months working with him. When we found his best level, he left the club. Leeds is one institution, one club and less Marcelo. In Leeds I try and manage every situation being humble. But if you think that one player will come here and play without reason, it is not like that. The players arrive here are going to play if they are better than the players playing. I am very confident in Augustin's qualities and strengths, he is a player with great, great skills but in football and even more in one league like the Championship that is the fifth or sixth best league in the world, he is not going ti arrive and play without being at his ideal level. As I know my characteristics as manager, I know I am not a big manager but also I know some things clearly, for instance if we have training in the week and the player plays very, very good or plays very well for the under-23s, this doesn't mean that he is going to play in the first team and have an impact. But what I saw a few few times is the opposite, that one player that has not made an impact or in training or in the under 23s, he plays in the first team and has an impact. There are some exceptions such as players who have had five years in the Championship and have the experience. You don't analyse the matches of the under 23s because every week I receive messages about why is Edmondson not playing. I am the first one who wants Edmondson playing here, when he had the injury in the knee last week, he didn't know that he had this injury in the knee so he started to shadow him staying continue playing because you are doing great training, you are doing what we expect if you in 20 minutes in 18 months and then the luck decided him. So, all the comments around the player who arrives, the first thing I have to say with being humble to play in our first team and the XI starters the player has to be close to his best level linking the skills, fitness level and resources. If Augustin gets to play at 70 per cent of his skills he is going to be enough for him to play here. But if we can use just 50 per cent of his skills it is not going to be enough because he competes with Bamford and Tyler Roberts as well It is very easy to criticise Bamford for missing chances. He scored 12 times and he has done enough but underestimate one player like Bamford and look for solutions in any way is not the best way. I know perfectly which is the physical level of Augustin, I can talk to you for 15 minutes about his physical qualities, each quality, and I also know the physical performance you have to have to try and show the skills on the pitch because the skills and resources you have as a player transmit into the match if you are mentally and physically prepared. So think that one player in the last eight months played three matches, that is not absolutely what is football. And about how we judge the work of those people whose function is bringing people into the club, how could we bring in one great no 9 without money because we cannot pay one player because of the fair play. It is easy to say Bamford is missing chances but you have to analyse the situation of every player. I interpret Leeds with humility but think that this is the club that one player cannot arrive and just play and show himself because you have a lot of information or you should have this information but don't be necessary to take 20 minutes to explain this.
