Lampard has been looking to get a settled CB partnership and gone with Rudiger and AC who are probably the most senior.

Tomori's time will come, plenty of games in the upcoming months and we're still in 3 competitions. He made a few decision making errors and a bit sloppy in possession. But he's a young man and he's definitely got the potential to be a decent CB

Liked what saw brum when he played...but TJ makes good points....I'm not a fan of AC though

TJ's made some very good points but I feel their points that could equally apply to AC or Zouma as we but overall I personally thought Tomori was the better of the three and a little perplexed as to why he's been frozen out at the moment - some games unless I'm mistaken, he's not even made the squad!

I may be misreading Lampard’s intentions, but I don’t think Tomori has been “frozen out”. I think his being out of the team initially had more to do with his injury. Not sure he’s fully recovered from that - and I suspect Lampard is reintroducing him slowly.

Nothing has gone wrong with Tomori. He’s just return from an injury, so he would have to fight for a place, no one is safe.

Think he has the highest ceiling of our defenders.

Wouldn't mind seeing a few games with AC and Tomori as the CB partnership.

Hmm...risky... If we aren't playing Rudy I need to know a very good reason why

Rudiger-Tomori should definitely be your go to pairing imo

He has picked up a few knocks during this period, so that could be the reason, but I do agree with the sentiment though Brums. I found Tomori's initial performances for us more impressive than what Christensen has shown in his 2 and a bit seasons with the team so far.

I understood he'd had a few knocks Sidey but thought he was well over that.

I think AC is very talented but at the top level he seems too lightweight and easily bullied by physical strikers for me. Fikayo seems much more robust.

On the evidence I've seen this season that would be my preferred pairing as well.

The only academy graduate that has exceeded my expectations...Tomori.

Pleasantly surprised by how he's taken to the top-level step-up, especially given that he's predominantly right-footed playing as a left-sided CB which is turning into a bit of a specialist position.

Our youngest CB pairing (AC & Tomori) might just turn out to be the most complementary and ideal partnership.
That partnership is the only one that has kept clean-sheets (and looked comfortable playing together), even if the sample size is small...that's a fact.

CB is by far the most divisive position, everyone has different views on which is our best pairing.
(Frank himself is still probably trying to work out his best pairing...).

Not one of them should be displeased by the game-time that they've got this season.
Frank's been absolutely fair and fluid, spread the game-time reasonably well between all of them.

Right now seems settled on AC and Rudi but that may change...
Vague rumours of back three against United.

Not even featuring on the bench - not getting this at all!!!

Against United with all our CBs in matchday squad and the starting CB subbed off injured, got a clearer picture of who is competing with who.

Tomori appears to be Rudigers direct competition for left CB.
Zouma's competition is Christensen for right (and middle 3) CB.

FA Cup match on the horizon...likely sees Zouma & Tomori pairing again.
Bournemouth...AC & Rudi.

Now feels the time to switch, reverse the roles...let Tomori have a run of starts with AC for league matches.
Zouma & Rudi for cup matches.
