My view is you can win some games with better tactics but you win promotion with better players. We just haven't enough good players

Costa was meant to be the solution to that
Bielsa also warned at the end of last season that he got as much out of the squad as he could, and that it couldn't be repeated. Don't know what kind of message that was for the owners but to me it made positive and significant recruitment all the more important in the summer. We didn't strengthen, and in January finished up losing loans and chasing bench warmers to fix problems we can't hang around waiting for to be match ready. Always one step short but excuses aplenty. FFP, profitability and sustainability but happy to dish out 4 year contracts to players still in nappies.
Costa has been a duff signing and we should have seen that. We buy players that are not wanted by anyone else, Hello! why can they not get a game where they are? How many of our big money signings (big money for us anyway) have worked out?
Bamford, Costa, Douglas, Forshaw to name a few have all cost money in transfers and wages but contributed very little to the team. Loans have also drained money from the club and apart from White have they they been a success?
Other clubs seem to be much more astute in their transfer business and finding hidden gems.
It is a very depressing picture at present I am afraid
Douglas hasn't been fit since a year last Christmas, was fine until then gave us balance and flow in the play,

Got a few mates who are and have been involved with Leeds from Revie to the present day, had some good times 90 and 92 especially but always say to them this is the best club in the world and we are lucky only difference is I watch them and you played for them,

Suppose some of us are the lucky ones who were around during the three title wins. Night, off to bed to continue watching Full Metal Jacket.
