Mr Pontus should have swallowed his pride and done as he was told, and stayed with us if he's that loyal. I'll never forget his unforgivable behaviour v/s Villa last season.
————————…………………………………………………….. Pontus was right last season and Bielsa was wrong about letting them score. Villa themselves have gone on to score whilst an opposing player was down, and so has many other teams. Again Pontus was right, the Villa player injured himself and Leeds played to the whistle. Bielsa is not right on everything just because we have put him on a pedestal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Whoever was right or wrong ( personally I don’t think we should have let the fckers score) I’d never blame Pontus for disobeying orders like that in the heat of the moment... just shows a competitive spirit. Pontus is a headstrong and emotional bloke - good and bad in that but don’t think fitted in with the bielsa my way or the highway philisophy.

Changing room wasn’t a happy place towards the end of last season.

Any team that performs over the course season to a point where they finish above us are better.

No point being the best for a dozen matches & play teams off the park if you can’t maintain it over the course of a season. A runner can be excellent over the first 800 metres of a 1500. But the winner & champion will balance the duration of the race. Possibly 2nd season in a row we’re in danger of going out to hard in the promotion race.

From Jonathan Wilson in todays Observer:

"Its happening again. The same old story played out again. It happened at Athletic, it happened at Marseille, and it happened last season. This is what Marcelo Bielsa sides do. They start brilliantly, they ignite the enthusiasm and then they fade."

One of the most telling statements you'll read this season.
