Having watched your game last night, i thought both teams were below par.

Leeds the dominant side but as utterly toothless going forward, never really had me believing you would score a second.

Think you're right, Philips made a huge difference, seemed to enable Klich to be more effective, Philips cross field balls to change side of play are great, I think his dead ball delivery is just fine as well, its the lack of people to take advantage of it in box some times.

HB, always interesting to hear a neutral's view, completely agree, we just never look like scoring, the only time we do is when its a really quick break away from our own box.

Casilla has too many mistakes in him but is an expensive player that the current regime have signed so that creates some politics. Orta needs to see his signings justified, Bielsa needs to get results. AR doesn't want to upset either of them.

Meslier has not been given enough first team opportunities (should have played in league cup), but the opportunity he has had gave confidence that he can play teh system on the biggest stage.

Bielsa was prepared to drop BPF foe a loanee, he should be brave and do the same now, switch the keepers.

I think Bamford needs to be used differently, he needs to do less of the hold up play and be in the box more often, too often he is not there and he is our one target man.

As for Augustin, I just don't think he's going to have an impact with us and the same for Poveda, we literally might as well have signed no one this window for the impact these expensive players are going to have (I heard yesterday that Poveda was on 35k at Man City, just let that sink in regarding our finances, its lunacy).

Last night counts for nothing if we dont win on Saturday.
Kev still looks well off the pace despite the effort.

Funny how we are all different. Felt worse last night than after forest game. Forest we lost a maximum 1 point that we might have got had cooper scored the sitter. Last night we lost 2 points. Should have won the game 2-0 with harrison balls up.

Poveda looks like a nothing player and signing.

We're still toothless up front. And if we can't put
our chances away consistently, we're fooked.

We have Poveda for 4 years, he was on 35k at City.

Can we stop writing off signings after a week?

I was saying last week, my mate loved Bamford when he was at Boro (he had season tickets there). Said he oozed class and quality.

I wonder, if Bielsa's attempts to make him a more rounded striker, this has affected his ability to get in the box and also finish chances.

He’s not being written off but kinnear has said he is an improvement on 10 mill Prem player who already had a number of matches and goals under his belt for this division.

Simple question, do you agree with that assessment.

Spot on Best. Like it or not, they are our players. Let's get behind them. As the OP said, we looked like our old selves last night. We have eight home games and six away, probably need 2 points a game to get autos. It's doable, if we recover our confidence, but Brizzie is a must win.

Well he hasn't played for the first team so I don't know yet. Doesn't mean he should be written off, we have 14 more games and he's 19.

Doesn't have to do much to be better than Clarke the £10million PL league who looked garbage in every game since January last year

it's absolutely ridiculous how some on here make an opinion on a player that hasn't even started a game yet. i can understand being fed up with bamford or kiko or harrison they have all disappointed us at times. but that's the nature of sports, but to expect a player to be ready to step into bielsa's high tempo team after not playing a game for months is just stupid. fat kev really?

Kinnear hasn’t seen him play first team either yet is positive that he’s an improvement, so, do you agree with Kinnear or not?

^^^^^

Another maddening aspect of life under Bielsa.

Other clubs bought or loaned players in the window
and they went straight into their respective teams.
They filled identified needs.

Not us. We identify an 18 year old keeper who goes
into the U23s. A City fringe player in Poveda who looks lightweight in our U23s (yes I've watched him). And
Kev, who according to Bielsa is nowhere near MB's
required fitness levels. WTF?

If we are told by our Chief Executive that we would only sign exceptional players, we would only sign players who improved the squad (not the U23s) and then we sign 3 players that he says are better than what we had before, one has to then question why those players aren't in squad or getting any minutes.

When our Head Coach says that this Jan window was the most impressive work he's seen, when he goes on and on about Augustin's ability, but then hardly plays him explaining he's nowhere near ready, you have genuine cause to question what is going on.

Every Leeds fan, every pundit, every tv commentator, every journalist can see and has commented about how Leeds needed reinforcements in Jan. Everyone could see we needed at least striker and CB.

We got one of those and he was 3rd or 4th choice, is so unfit Bielsa talks about it all the time and as for Poveda, the club won;'t allow the press to interview him and he is nowhere near first team when the player he was replacing was just starting to be needed.

No players are being written off but with regards to these players being what we needed for final 18 games or so (4 already gone by where they have had zero impact), it is looking highly likely that this has been another hugely expensive waste of money that does far more hard than good for our club.

batty, are you blaming bielsa for orta and ar not pulling the finger out and splashing the cash on what we need to get out of this hellhole?
from the tiny bit i've seen of kev i think he could be usefull but i understand your frustration.

mont, I blame all of them. Bielsa massively at fault for either sitting on his hands and letting others go get players. Or he's just not very good at finding players.
Orta is the King of this sh 1. TPile. His recruitment
and methods are flat out dire to woeful. Kinnear's in
the firing line also for opening his idiot gob too often.
Ultimately though, it's Radz who gets the biggest
crotch kick from me. Iwanted to believe in him. But,
based on evidence so far, he's not that football smart.

Don’t think anyone is genuinely writing players off.
The frustration is we needed players who could immediately start senior games.

Other teams at the top have done so and plenty of others with players coming off the bench

Eg
Forest - Bong / Diakhaby started last night
West Brom - Robinson started at weekend
Swansea - Brewster has played every game
Preston- Sinclair started every game

Augustin will only be good for 30 mins maximum under Bielsa's regime for the rest of the season in my opinion.
He may be a useful sub though so if he can get half a dozen important goals all well and good but if Bamford gets injured and he is all we have despite his poor conversion rate, then what?

Half a dozen goals makes him second top scorer in just 14 more games.

It simply is not going to happen.

I'd be happier if Bielsa could give Bamford a more 'rounded' head. The one he uses currently is shaped like a 50p piece judging from his directional ability with headers.

Why we didn't go for Scott Hogan, a proven goalscorer in this league, is beyond me. Now Brum are reaping the dividends. When you look at our business in the market over the past 2 years, it is a miracle we are in second place. The miracle is Bielsa.
