Kebab

You say we have options out wide.

All garbage.

The amount of quality ball Harrison and costa get is amazing. Never seen wingers get the ball as much as these two

Yet they constantly do the wrong thing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh i agree that they could be upgraded on. My only point was we appear to have signed a position that was less needy than others and if Jonty it correct about him being on 35k it’s looking bad business. He’s been poor in the u23s
----------------------------------------------------------------------
was on.....I wouldn't be surprised if we offered less and 4 years but he's still got to be on 25k at least.

That's one hell of an expensive U23 player for a championship side.

Orta needs to stop going round thinking and saying we're a Prem club, we're not.

Look at outfield players we have signed that are in squad

Forshaw - permanently injured
Roberts - permanently injured
Douglas - injury after injury
Bamford - injury problems last season, he has been very lucky this season
Brown - even signed him injured
Augustin - so unfit Bielsa has said its unfair to everyone to play him (even though he has)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And we have one big liability who never gets injured
----------------------------------------------------------------------
which outfield player is that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn't notice your outfield comment unfortunately

We've missed Forshaw. Not controlled games as much as August and September without him. He didn't chip in with goals but good on the ball, always comfortable in possession and was the perfect number 8 in our squad for Bielsa's style of play IMO.

We needed cover for him, although I think Shackleton could be that type of player just a bit more dynamic.

He is now a write off.

You have to ask questions on our DOF and also physios - Him and Roberts have cost us about 9m.

Forshaw is a useful player when fit, really nothing more than that, we’ve had a string of them, Bridcutt, O Kane, Forshaw who have cost money and delivered little, when we should have been getting Dacks and Bowen’s.

But probably made Radz and Orta at least a million quid in their back pocket.... Makes you wonder what their cut is from Costa, Kiko, Augustin and Poveda.

It's true that when he was fit, he helped. And same goes for Tyler. But, if a player's always injured, they're useless.

Actually thought we played best when he got injured

Foreshaw, Klich and Phillips in midfield is far far too sterile and zero creativity

Orta wrote a testimonial for the transfer room software.

I sheet you not, here is his testimonial visible on the site today if you care to look:

“The Financial Controller might say “Oh another software tool on our expense list”. But I have saved a lot of money this summer making 5 transfers. I have already earned a lot of money using TransferRoom.”

As long as Kalvin & Klich are in the midfield,
we'll have a chance in any game. Good Pabs
alongside them and we are at our best.

If we do get promoted is there an Injured player list available that we can buy from ?

We must have known he would be out for the season in January and still not replaced him. What a shocker. A decent midfielder who could play back up to Philips would have been ideal

Earl, I half thought about looking at the Prem's injured list and building an LUFC Prem XI (for amusement).

End of the season, regardless if we go up or not, the recruitment side at the club needs clearing out.

Agree Shaun. I'd go throw a bunch of money at whoever run's Brentford's recruitment. If we're going to continue to operate on this sham of a budget, then at least find
minds who can unearth players with the right abilities.
Including ability to stay on the pitch.

I’ve no issues running on a small squad, I get the idea and prefer to huge squad.

But to have a squad of 20 pros that include the following

Foreshaw
Cooper
Ayling
Bamford
Roberts
Pablo
Douglas

All have a history of missing large chunks regular.

It’s criminal

19 year old with 1 game under his belt.
Should be on a few hundred quid a week. A grand at most. As soon as you learn it’s going to be a multi million pound gamble you move on. If he’s on 25k a week that’s a contract worth £5.8million he’s been given. Brentford would have signed 4 top players for that.

Its sickening Kebab. Club cry about having no money and then p. 1. zs it all away on the dumbest contracts for nothing players. Incredible.

Yep. And still Ouasim Bouy spends his days holidaying in the sun.

We've ran along with this dodgy strategy for far too long - the Izzy Brown fiasco last year, finally killed it for me - club hoping to have a 'saviour' towards the end of the season - played 20 minutes against Direby?

Gambles on players that were once 'ok/ competent' but only available due to questionable fitness otherwise we wouldn't have got a look in.

I would rather the club did without and chance the youngsters.

I do agree. Although that can depend on the quality from full back, wings and striker.

Look how good Liverpool are and their midfield 3 are usually workmanlike (Henderson, Wijnaldum and Fabinho etc)

And yes...I appreciate their attacking options are a lot better than ours.
