Tight at the top

Only saving grace is, we’ve the best run in by a country mile.

Everyone else going to be dropping point by playing each other

Sadly, Reading are as hopeless as we are at hitting the target.

We've won just 2 games in 11 now and are still 2nd.

That tells us the chasing pack haven't been consistent enough.

We went 11 games unbeaten, winning 9 of those, between October and December to build up that 13 point gap. No other contender has been capable of that sort of run and with a more favourable set of fixtures now, we could potentially do it again.

It tells us the chasing pack have caught up.

Well obviously, great analysis.

Forest beat us, lose to Charlton. Fulham chance to go top and draw, lucky to not lose as they gave away a penalty. The chasing pack have made up 11 points in a run of 30 points where we have won just 9 points. Those teams aren't as consistent as Sheff Utd last year who lost just 2 games from January onwards. That's our saving grace.

I’d be staggered if Bristol or Preston kept the pace... but then I’ve been shocked by forest and they’re still up there.

Fulham Brentford us and baggies fighting for top 2.

Maybe I’m an eternal optimist and in denial about our run of form .

This league is utter garbage this year, utter garbage.

With the run we have been on, teams we’re going to catch up because every game, either 2 or 3 points are gained.

We couldn’t have hand picked a better run in.

Only reason we don’t go up, is because of ourselves

12 out of last 15 points, 14 out of last 18, why do you think they wont last the pace?

posted on 12/2/20

Because they’re streaky average sides Jonty. Preston did a decent job on us at our place and have a decent manager doing a job on a shoestring but both these sides have scraped loads of points against the run of play. You need some luck to go up, but I can’t see them keeping the pace up. We’ll batter Bristol at the weekend ... and probably lose 1-0 after missing a stack of sitters and watching kiko chuck it in their own net.

Of course not fella... you want a bunch of mid table teams with nothing to play for at the end of the season. It just doesn’t always go to script.. especially with us... look at the cack we’ve found a way of losing to recently.

We won one game in eleven between the end of December and the end of February in 08-09 and still ended up winning the title.

Moly we heard same about Norwich how lucky they were with last minute goals how sheff u are average team they won’t keep it up.

You’ve mentioned 2 of 5 chasing us it only takes 1 of those 5 to have slightly better results than us are we’re dicking around in playoffs.

If all of us continue firm for just 2 matches we’re in 7th It’s a really precarious position right now for a tram that just can’t score enough goals.

We also had Roofe and Bamford last season instead of Bamford and Big Kev who'll do well to actually get a goal. We don't really have any form players anywhere on the pitch. Keeper poorx defence have looked vulnerable although did better on Tuesday. Costa looks poor, Klich hasn't scored for months, Pablo looks had it, Harrison looks decent up until the final third and Bamford is just too reliant on service. Need players to step it up now.

Fans need to forget what the table looked like and concentrate on what it is now. Frustrating but no point looking back

The beauty of football is that it could all change at the snap of a finger.

Although slim I would not be surprised if we suddenly found ourselves top in a few weeks time - typical Leeds when you expect the worse.

You didn’t hear sheff United were average from me. They played good football all season. Norwich played good football too... but weren’t good at the back and relied heavily on pukki taking a ridiculous amounts of their chances.

All I’m doing is passing comments on the teams based on what I’ve seen personally and reports I’ve read. I think there are 4 good sides in this division and I’ve named them. Hardly makes me a genius as most would have named the same. The current top 5 are 5 of the 6 I picked on here to be top 6 back in the autumn. I thought wed would join Brentford in coming through from the pack, they did for a while but have gone into freefall.

No one would dispute how precarious our position is... but wakey is right about our run in. It’s something to take hope from. Fulham and Brentford are the likely threats for autos and looking at the run ins Brentford’s is easier. All just my opinion.

West Brom are what, 6pts ahead!..

They were not long back 11pts ahead!..

I know, with us!..

Nothing to say we cant catch them, mind the way things are it needs a better run than those behind us, what has to happen now is keeping those behind us at bay!..

2 players we could of signed in jan who would have contributed more than Poveda.

Callum Robinson went to West Brom. Proven at this level

Scott Sinclair went to Preston. I know hes been playi ng in scottish phb league but still has an eye for a goal,
can hit a decent free kick and more importantly can deliver a quality cross that doesnt always hit first man.

Orta feckin useless.

Got to win next 2 home games. I think we will as well.

We are good enough to go up.

Its dependent on confidence. The two lqds at either end of the pitch...Keeper and striker need to step up.

Its incredible how many points the keeper has cost us. He cost us last year as well. Now he is a good lookint bloke but I presume Bielsa doesn't want a piece. Yws he can also play out from the back but he isn't doing that well either.

Of we address the performance of these two positions. Even if its by replacing with an average option who doesn't f up all the time. We stand a good chance of going up

But how to address their performance, they’ve been in side long enough but coaches can’t suddenly change them now. It’s confidence fir both players but without any psychological support it’s literally just hoping something u turns.
